I'm a major Stewart fan and by extension a Hamlin fan (even though i think he has his head up his ***). When it comes to the championship though i find myself cheering for johnson (know that stewart has no chance), even though i hate all that is hendrick. I cheer for johnson because he's my only hope to beat Gordon, i hate gordon more than any other driver...

so i guess my question is this: anyone temporarily a Johnson fan just so Gordon doesnt get the championship?

I have No Problem THAT The Dwayne did it , It's just the WAY He did it. That & the Fact He Refuses to Acknowledge Wrestling at All Anymore. THAT'S What Pisses Me Off about The Dwayne. Otherwise , I have No Problem with the Man. Austin doesn't Recieve Heat , because He Still Actually Appears , & Does Matches as Ref. He Knows Where He came from , The Dwayne does Not...

Sorry, but I have to disagree. I am a Smoke fan too, but I hate Johnson. I don't think he or Gordon have any right running for the cup because they were both caught CHEATING this year. It seems funny to me that the two teams that were caught cheating this year are 1-2 in the points. Is this a coincidence? There used to be an old saying that Cheaters never win, but it doesn't seem to apply to Hendrick. Johnson was caught last year with a mechanism to adjust the cars aero and was still crowned Champ. That makes me sick! You can call me a hater and that would be true. I do hate CHEATERS. I have a little respect for Gordon, but NO respect for Johnson who is caught CHEATING EVERY YEAR. I would rather Clint win it all.

I have been a Johnson fan for five years. I am always happy to see him do so well. I have not cared for Gordon so much. He does not handle himself on camera well. Too whiney for me.

This whole chase is a double edged sword. On one hand you got Gordon who would still be ahead with the old points system. On the other hand, you have Johnson who has won EIGHT races this year with a possibility of more. It's hard to know how to feel about the whole points thing, and what is fair.

My wife and I are both Earnhardt fans. Can't stand Johnson but prefer for him to win the Cup as his year has been better than Gordon's in the win column, so far.

It won't make us permanent Johnson fans if he does but whatever it takes to snuff Gordon's chances of winning it is fine by us.

The lesser of 2 evils you might say.

Best case scenario, they both have problems over the last few races and both lose.

But with HMS equipment, they're not likely to have mechanicals, so driver error would be good or getting caught up in someone else's.

Listening to Gordon fans complain. Priceless!

As firmly entrenched ABG fans, Johnson qualifies as ABG.

...I would like to see Bowyer win the chase not because I hate Gordon but because I hate the chase and I believe it would have caused an uproar with Bowyer coming into the chase 12th in points.

...I'm a Jr fan but if anyone deserves to win the championship it would have to be Gordon. He's a good driver and you can't take that from him. I don't care to see Jimmie win it because it would be another factor of a chase produced champion and not one based on yearly performance.

...Champions are not determined by 10 races alone.

nope, and never will be! I prefer Gordon over Johnson. Johnsons a little whiner.

I'm not a fan of either Jimmie or Jeff...but I like Jimmie's pit crew. (What?!? Can't a person like a pit crew but hate the driver? Besides, it's fun to see how horribly Chad Knaus interprets the NASCAR rule book!) But...I would laugh my patookis off if Boyer ended up winning the Championship, seeing as NASCAR's doing everything possible to ensure Jeff or Jimmie win it.

But, fans that hate the Chase, don't worry. One Junior wins a championship, NASCAR will go back to the way it used to be...just like they instituted the rule of having the top 35 automatically qualify shortly after Junior missed a race on time.

I was with you all the way until you said u cheer for Johnson. Frankly i cant stand either of them so the rest of the races will just suck. You hate Gordon, i hate Johnson the most. They are so equal though.

Not a JJ fan, but he seems to be a really nice guy. Wouldn't mind seeing him win since Mark Martin is not in it. Not a chase format fan. But I agree it's unfair to Jeff, since he has been the most consistent all year and deserves the title.

No, because Gordon is still part car owner for the 48 so it would still be a victory for him.
