I remember watching f1 races and thinking such and such was going to win and then seeing a huge ploom of smoke and then seeing the leader pull off and either being distraught if it was a jordan or delighted if it was someone i didnt like.

It really added to the excitement and unpredictability of the races. I know i was incredibly frustrated when Fisichella retired from Hockenheim in 97 while in second and Frentxen while leading in the nurburgring 99 but that was part of the sport and it made it oh so entertaining and unpredictable. Similarly i was ecstatic when a car would drop out and allow one of my guys through. Espiecially when an engine would go BOOM! its just a cool sight.

Why do the FIA want the cars to be more reliable? The building of engines/gearboxes is only a tiny fraction of the developmental costs. I say let them push the engines to the extreme and if they explode so be it let that be their punishment. None of this 10 place grid demotion nonsense.

My Dad and I are building a Mini Stock (aka factory four) and I was wondering what kind of car you think would be the best to get. It has to be 4 cyl, and 5 speed. So far we were told Dodge Neons were zippy little cars and easy to find parts for too! We want something that we can get new parts fairly easily so we can fix it when it breaks. Any ideas welcome! Thanks!

So nascar extended it from the top 10 to the top 12 to some what gaurentee that their most popular drivers, ie gorden Dale Jr stewart, actually make the chase. But here we are 2 races to go and Jr is yet again sitting on the outside looking in with almost no hope of making it. Whats next for nascar? Let the top 15 in next year?

Budweiser to move to Kasey Kahne in 2008

Gillett Evernham Motorsports has “agreed in principle” on a deal for Budweiser to be the primary sponsor of Kasey Kahne next season.

The “biggest issue is licensing revenue.” Kahne’s reps want to ensure that he is “not giving up more than he gains because there’s a possibility this could hurt his relationship with Allstate and his Vitaminwater deal”

Ever since that spoiled brat Hamilton came into F1 (with the fastest car and Mclaren support since 13, I might add), people have bent over backwards telling us how great he is. Some Brits insisted that he is already the greatest ever and one former world champ already said that Hamilton can be better than Schumacher.

Now F1 journalist Peter Windsor wrote, "I think Lewis is better than both Senna and Prost".

WTF! I am sick of people in F1 kissing Hamilton's butt at the expense of guys like Fangio, Senna, Prost, Schumacher, etc. . . For these multiple time world champs and F1 legends to even be put in the same paragraph as a rookie is a ridiculous and insulting.
