Budweiser to move to Kasey Kahne in 2008
Published August 30th, 2007 in NASCAR

Gillett Evernham Motorsports has “agreed in principle” on a deal for Budweiser to be the primary sponsor of Kasey Kahne next season.

The “biggest issue is licensing revenue.” Kahne’s reps want to ensure that he is “not giving up more than he gains because there’s a possibility this could hurt his relationship with Allstate and his Vitaminwater deal”

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT THIS?

Haha, maybe this will change all of your guys' minds, the ones who keep saying Kasey doesn't look like a beer guy.

Anyways, I think its cool. Bud is a great sponsor, its something new for him, like a fresh start. Besides, I hate the dodge paint schemes, maybe the Bud one will be cool.

But that is funny about the Allstate+Bud thing! That made me laugh!

I dont know.. I mean I love Kasey but I dont really like this idea..It just doesnt seem like it will work to me..does anyone else feel this way? I mean why would this budweiser sponsorship bring Kasey out of his shell?Just cuz he has a beer as a sponsorship it will change him? Come on now people, no it wont. He will be the same old Kasey drinking vitamin water. I'd like if they just left him alone and went for like Kevin Harvick or someone..not Kasey.

Sorry ! I just can't imagine Kasey as a spokesman for Budweiser . Like someone else said Allstate and Budweiser do not go hand and hand.

And by the way I do like Kasey

EDIT: Thats right ! What Salsero_Borincano said

How about somebody like Kenny "Herm The Worm Weaver "Wallace !!!! Now theres ya a GRAND Bud spokesman .

It would make perfect sense marketing-wise. As someone else said, guys like Elliott Sadler already drink Bud, if they can stand the taste. Budweiser wants to appeal to new segments of the market, presumably, in particular, the legions of young women who seem to make up most of Kasey's fans.

On his part, Kasey is probably eager to ditch his cutie-pie image. He may look angelic, but, c'mon, the guy is 27 years old. A beer sponsorship might add a little testosterone to his public persona.

Only drawback is, he'll be expected to drink Budweiser in public and act like it tastes good. It'd be too much of a strain for me. :-)

When I think of beer, I don't think of Kasey Kahne. If Bud doesn't stay with Jr., they need a loose cannon like Harvick or Robby Gordon. Hey, they can give Jimmy Spencer a ride: if ANYBODY looks like a beer drinker, "Mr. Excitement" does.

Don't think allstate and vitamin water would agree to this unless he is going to dump them, cause car ins and drinking and driving don't mix, and healthy vitamin water and bud, that sounds and would taste terrible...He is not a rowdy kinda guy, its hard to picture him, and I can not imagine him without his 3 gals, well I guess they could become bud girls, and chase him out in the desert like the mutant desert guys do in the dale jr commerical....Put Elliot Sadler in the bud car...I've even seen him with a Bud in his hand before....But its all about a marketable face and popularity.. Some how I just can not see Kasey Kahne bud lifesize posters in the beer section of my grocery store....

I don't think Kahne when I think of beer, I doubt his All-State cougars are drinking Bud. They seem more of a Boone's wine and shooters crowd.

Unless a Vanilla Flavored Budweiser is on way, that I haven't heard about.

Somehow I just can't picture Kahne with a Bud in his hand. He'd be better with "Got Milk". Nothing against him, but he just doesn't fit the image. Should be Elliot Sadler. Now that is a Bud commercial face. One of the good ol' boys!! Picture Tony Stewart & crew climbing the fence with a Bud!! That would be a great commercial. Lot's of potential drivers, just not Khane, sorry.

I really think that would be like putting a child on the label, I know it is not Kasey's fault, but as a beer sponsor, it just seems lilke its not gonna make the same target audience
