I have written several of them. But I have to tell you it is not something that gets done for free these days, nor is it something that comes with any guarantees.

When you go to your target sponsor you need to have done your homework to know why they should put money into you and the sport. You cannot just go asking for money without knowing the audience, the success of similar sponsors, the ROI for this kind of thing, etc.

And, your proposal needs to be slick: well written, good appearance, and right to the point.
