Some of the NASCAR fans can't even accept Jeff Gordon, much less Jacques Villeneuve. Some will be glad to have any good driver in the series.

If he's a good driver and acts like a decent guy, I think he will be. I think a lot of people have prolems with Juan Pablo Montoya because he comes off as being very standoffish, and to a certain degree he can be. Personally, I have no problem with foreigners or foreign-made car models being in NASCAR. Anyone who makes the racing better is good by me.

Man, you've got it all wrong. Most of the drivers today are not from the south. Kevin Harvick, Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, Clint Bowyer, Kasey Kahne, Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, Martin Truex... none of these guys are from the south, and they've been accepted.

Hey! I'm a southern redneck and I thought it was pretty neat when Montoya first came over. But after hearing the way he talks to his crew over the radio and watching his driving style, I think he is just another prima donna who thinks he's the greatest driver out there, and he's far from that. I think if JV runs well and shows respect to his competitors he will be accepted by them as well as a large percentage of the fans.

Do you judge books by looking at their covers?
Give the guy a chance to actually drive on the track, and then create an opinion. If a person is so bias they won't give a driver a chance, why care about the driver then?

Most of your so called NASCAR Nation won't be able to handle it. They are either to young to know JV or don't even know of him because they are just simple minded one race series fans. The same bunch that don't like Montoya will be there to bash Jacques Villeneveuve.

He'll do fine with fans and on the track. He's a good driver and he's been linked with this kind of move since he was canned by BAR at the end of 2003.
Who cares where a driver is from anyway?

I'd be happy to see another accomplished driver join the ranks of NASCAR. Just wish he jumped on with a better team.

He will have some of the same problems Montoya has with some of the die hard southern red necks...I have no problem with him at all, saw him race in Europe when I lived over there, and I saw him win at Indy, his dad Giles was also a great driver as well, Jacques will do just fine..
