It's the closest track to my home and haven't been yet and I'm thinking about finally going. I really just want to hear from people who have been there but if you feel the need to answer, no one is stopping you.

My english friend swears up and down that nascar could not compete on a normal track of a formula one race car. They are to quick and a nascar would be left in the dust.

With Chevy's lack of wins at Michigan, could this be the year they break into victory lane given the amount of races they've won this year?

I believe they're going to Michigan this weekend, correct? Goodyear hasn't been good to my boy, Jimmie Johnson, lately. He's been blowing tires left and right, and it cost him two positions in points. Hopefully he can make that up in Michigan. Ok, ante up folks..........who's your pick for this weekend?

Who seems to know the most about their race car beyond how to drive the car, who seems to be the driver who can break items and information down about their car and explain it well? Overall, which driver seems to know the anatomy of their race car the best?
MUST PICK AN ACTIVE DRIVER, NO CREW CHEIFS!!

I'm not talking about the press conference, I'm talking about the 1 on 1 interview. I'm a Gordon fan since day one, but have always liked Jr. After seeing the interview, I have a lot more respect for the man. If you did see the interview, what are your thoughts on it?

Lets get some things straight here in regards to Hendrick Motor Sports and the signing of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the early release of Kyle Busch.....

First.....Hendrick stated at the beginning of all this that he did not have room for Jr and this was before Kyle was granted an early release from his contract.

Second...after and only after Busch and Hendrick decided to part ways early (mind you Kyles contract was up at the end of the 08 season anyhow) was Earnhardt signed to a contract.

Third....why is everyone beating a dead horse? Whats done is done, move on. As far as Mr. Rainbow Coalition and his bigoted comments...you like getting people worked up dont you? You must have nothing better to do with your time, how sad. What a sad little person you are.

I saw that the Evernham Dodges will be using the 2006 nose at Michigan. Look for them to be much more competitive this week. Can Penske and Ganassi run whatever they want as well? Who decides this, NASCAR, Dodge or the individual teams? If it's the teams why don't they ALL switch back before it's too late?

With the signing of Dale Earnhardt Jr., NASCAR’s most prominent free agent, the 2007 Silly Season may have begun in earnest.
On the surface, it would seem that putting Earnhardt Jr. under contract ended negotiations. But wait. Now Kyle Busch is available. Greg Biffle isn’t signed beyond 2008. A host of other drivers are in contract-signing years as well. What happens now?
Team owners must be dying to get their hands on Busch. Even if he’s made his future decision, he’s probably still hearing a pitch or two. He’s 22, talented and capable of winning on a weekly basis. He’s unquestionably future championship material.

So what does his availability do?

And what about the others? Behind the scenes, phones are probably ringing off the hook.

So take heart gossip-lovers. Earnhardt Jr. may have made his decision, but the real game is about to begin.

Who will be next?

I was certain that all the conspiracy theorists (the ones who claim that NASCAR is rigged to let Hendrick Motorsports win every week) would have been all over Yahoo Answers complaining that NASCAR had a hand in Junior's decision to drive for HMS. After all, it's a natural progression...phantom debris cautions, acts of God (weather), and now Junior!

Presenting the (un)official conspiracy theorist's version of the driver's meeting prior to the 2008 Daytona 500

NASCAR Official: "OK, gentlemen, let's get this started. First off, let me welcome you to the 50th running of the Great American Race. Now, as you all know, Junior over there has a new ride with the Hendrick team, and you know what that means (wink, wink)."

Tony Stewart: "But..."

Official: "Now, Tony, after that outburst, we're gonna have to ask you to pay a visit to the trailer. Mr. France is gonna wanna chat with you."

Stewart: "But..."

Official: "Good luck, boys, especially you, Junior (wink, wink)."

I've met Benson personally down in North Carolina last year. It was the coolest expieriance ever. He won me as a fan just with how he was....I think he is the best truck driver out there. And I'm gonna go down to MIS this weekend to watch him race! People give him to little respect...he's actually a really great driver.

He hasn't done anything to merit a long stay in F1, apart from showing a few flashes of speed on occasion. He has the raw talent, but lacks the work ethic and focus. There are many equally talented, but HARDER WORKING and MORE FOCUSED drivers waiting in the wings to take his place.

What do American F1 fans think of Scott Speed? Are you dissapointed the first American F1 driver since Michael Andretti is a slacker who isn't focused enough. Atleast Andretti had an excuse - His teammate was the great Ayrton Senna and he was also commuting from the USA.

I was reading the entry list on the nascar website for both races this weekend. I seen that Scott Wimmer is on the entry list for the Busch race in Kentucky to drive the #29 Holiday Inn car, but he's also on the Cup race in Mich. entry list to drive the #33 Holiday Inn car also. Looks like he's shooting for a double duty this weekend between states.

I think this Busch driver has alot of talent and could possibly be RCR's 4th team driver next year. What do you think? Do you think he will make it into the Cup race this weekend by qualifying on time?
