It's the closest track to my home and haven't been yet and I'm thinking about finally going. I really just want to hear from people who have been there but if you feel the need to answer, no one is stopping you.

Martinsville is awesome. Two drag strips with a couple of small, flat turns. It is finesse driving short track style. The cars don't like to turn because of the lack of banking so the best drivers learn how to float it in and learn when to get back on the throttle. Being an old school track with the history it has makes it even cooler.

I have to agree with what the others above me have said. I have been coming from Ohio to Martinsville for several years and I love it! You are sitting so close to the action, and it is fun to watch the guys bumping each other around. I've never had a problem bringing a soft cooler into the track. I've always sat in turns 1&2, and the view is great! I went to Bristol for the first time this past March, and IMHO, Martinsville is just as exciting as Bristol.

I went to Martinsville 2 years ago....One of the Best Tracks i've been too. It's just a giant paperclip so tthere's always rubbin and a lotta crashing. It never gets boring when your watching a race there. In other speedways after the green flags been out for a while ppl sit dwn and start to get bored....not at Martinsville though! your' standing through the whole race practically! I'd go there again any day!

I think that it is a great track a lot of cars hitting each other when the race starts all of the cars are shinny and look brand new but when the race ends it looks as if the cars were hit a bunch of times with a hammer, and there is grear racing at Martinsville

I have been to Martinsville several times and I really enjoy it. Short track racing is my favorite and it is hard to not get a good seat. We always pay a bit to park in someone's yard. . . not too much of a walk. . .but the traffic getting out the last time I went was horrible. If you park on the hill right outside of the track, it's not too bad unless it has rained and then you have the chance of getting stuck.

Martinsville does not allow you to carry much in. No hard coolers anymore. In fact the last time I went the only way I was allowed to carry our backpack in was I said it was my purse, lol. I seen a lot of people carrying there items in clear bags and they got through.

It is good racing, but if you can ever make it to Bristol that is the place to go. :)

Short track racing is best to watch from the stands, I have been to Richmond and that is still the best nascar racing I have seen (I have been to Daytona, Charlotte, California, phoenix and las vegas). also everyone says the track has great hot dogs.
