One is designed to go a 1/4 mile and NOT turn and the other is designed to go over 100 miles making hairpin turns. The big one going the short distance has way, WAY more horsepower.

NHRA Top Fuel Dragsters produce between 3500 and 4000 HP. Formula 1 about 800 HP.
Top Fuel dragster can reach 320 MPH in a little over 4 seconds. Would leave a Formula 1 car in the dust.
Bit this is comparing apples to oranges as the engines in these cars are made for completely different types of racing.

In the quarter mile an NHRA top fuel dragster or funny car would blow the fins right off an F1 Car. I love NASCAR, like F1, don't care much for NHRA; but the truth is the truth and NHRA puts out more horsepower then F1 and NASCAR combined.
However if you want to talk sheer horsepower and torque there is no motorsport that has more power then Tractor Pulls; yes....Tractor Pulls. They have beasts now that generate enough power to light up New York City.

Really this comparing apples to oranges simply because F-1 is a racing vehicle and NHRA is dragsters.
As for raw unbridled horsepower that would be NHRA, how much torque has to go through the rear wheels to get them up to over 200 mph in a quarter mile? F-1 cars would break in half with that kind of horsepower.
Also why is this question under NASCAR?

Yeah, I'm sure your street car has 800 hp. Drag racing rocks the world, but Nascar is fun also. Anybody can go fast in a straight line. If a teenage girl can do it, how hard can it be? On the other hand, every single person with a heartbeat needs to attend an NHRA or IHRA national event at least once. Walk the pits, rub elbows with he big guys, and feel the ground shake and see the sky burn. It's all over way too quick, but Nascar has nothing like a Top Fuel dragster. Total Sensory Overload! - bring earplugs

NHRA top fuel dragsters and funny cars boast over 8000 hp (yes 8 thousand!) Nascar Cup cars are rumored over 800. Champcar and the IRL claim from 650 to 750 hp, depending on who you talk to. I keep hearing F1 hp numbers around700 to 750 and up, but does anyone really know outside of the race teams? If this is all true, then for race cars that actually turn, NASCAR has the most hp. Drag racers have enough power to change the world.

Anyone with the least bit of racing knowledge knows that NHRA cars have so much more horsepower. Long live the HEMI in Funny Car, and Top Fuel.

NHRA has more horsepower, hands down. I like F-1, but it's only a glorified go-kart, really. NHRA cars, now there's horsepower.

UM... A top fuel dragster accelerates from a dead stop to over 300 mph in less than 4.5 seconds...... Incase you were wondering thats faster than a military fighter jet... Just keep in mind the motors in these cars will only last for two runs tops.
