5

They don't have the number, crew or sponsor details figured out yet. Rick said it would take a couple of months to iron all that out. The reason that they couldn't do this stuff ahead of time is because the story would have leaked earlier if they had been talking to all those other people. They just had to get the basic deal with Jr wrapped up so they could make the big announcement. Rick did say he would swap the 5 for the 8 if Teresa was up for that.

The logical choice is the 5 but there is talk of putting Mears in the 5 and Junebug in the 25 to reunite Budweiser and the Hendrick 25 which they previously sponsored long before most of you knew there was a NASCAR... Man I'm getting old.

That #8 isn't leaving DEI unless someone pays them a boot load of $ for it!

5 or 25

Rumor says 5 or 25. However since the only thing his wicked step-mother cares about is the all mighty dollar I wouldn't be surprised if Hendrick tries to cash her off for the #8.

I've heard these numbers;08,5,19,50,69,and even the number 8(basicly a large cash and trade deal with D E I)
But until Hendricks Motorsports make the announcement the number is "x".

Dale and Kyle will be trading rides and numbers, Dale will be #5 and Kyle will drive #8 for DEI.

It hasn't been decided yet. There are three main possibilities:

1. He just takes Kyle's spot in the 5.

2. Rick moves Casey up to the 5 and puts Junior in the 25.

3. Rick tries to get the 8 from DEI in some kind of deal.

My guess is that since Kyle Busch is going to pursue his career alsewhere, Jr. will drive the number 5 car. Just have to wait and see I guess!

They aren't sure yet what # to use for Jr. Maybe 5 or 25. Or they'll try to get the #8 from DEI. I'd like to see him stay in 8. Just have to wait and see.
