F1 cars are definetly a lot faster than stock cars. In my opinion i think nascar drivers have more skills because they have a harder car to drive. that is why not many open wheel drivers have been successful in stock cars.

Your English friend is correct. The two cars are very very different. F1 Cars are built scientific marvels designed around aerodynamics and engines. NASCAR are more along the lines of suped up family sedans; where they work the aero and engines to keep the cars on the track and going fast.
However; F1 Drivers so far to date have struggled when they have gotten behind the wheel of a NASCAR Car. Only Mario Andretti has won both in an F1 Race and a NASCAR Cup Race; No other Driver has done that (and if anyone brings up Montoya's win in Mexico; that was a Busch race, not Cup.)

A formula 1 car would win however, an F1 car is easier to drive, they are equipped with traction control and all kinds of other driver aids.... Stock car racing is a 3500lb metal monster that is intentionally made to be difficult to drive. It provides more competitive exciting racing. Not to mention an F1 car can cost a million dollars or so, a stock car runs around 165 thousand..... so you can almost buy 7 Stock cars for the price of one F1 Car

The F-1 would win, because it's lighter. But the NASCAR drivers take more hazzards in their cars in the race.

As much as I am a NASCAR fan I think the F1 would beat the cup everywhere but Bristol.

A F1 car would absolutely spank a NASCAR.
F1 = 0-100km in less than 2 seconds
Nascar = 0-100 in under 4 seconds

they are two different breeds. nascar doesn't let their cars run over 200 mph for safety reasons. f1 cars do. so ur friend is right. but if a good ford were to be allowed to run as it can, I think it could beat an f1 simply because they can run 250 mph if they wanted to..
