Do you guys see a time where many more Americans will start appearing in F1, I think Scott Speed is the only American in it right now. And are there any good American road racers or open wheel you guys see having a shot

But assuming he does gets his team in 2008 and considering being the chracter he was and without any budget constraints as well as engine, chasis and other material and if he could pick and chose his drivers, who would he hire amongst today's F 1 drivers ?

I will be the first to admit I know nothing about the sport. But, would probably like it too. I just think we should all stay in our own topics...Either get real, are find something else to do. Those of us who talk Nascar are not stupid, rednecks, and hillbillies. We just know what we like. If you don't like it you have obvisly never been to the track to hear the roar of the cars as they come around. Or the excitment of being in the crowd as they cheer their drivers on. Better yet have never driven around the track in a race car to feel the excitment....To each his own.......Thats why the world is made up of different people. And for those of you who have something negitive to say. BITE ME.....

Nascar fans are stupid. I got into racing about 6 years ago and I am still learing, but why is that you have your own forum and yet you come over here and rag on us? Is your forum to boring? OH like that race when none of your drivers showed up because the tire was messed up? Nascar is better imo and the last I checked we all live in a free country where we are all allowwed to have and form opinions and in my opinion, F1 and Indy suck!

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. The chute is deployed by means of a spring that pushes the drone chute away from the car. Since the spring pushes against the car, could this exert enough force to move the car forward just enough to record the win? I saw a race two weeks ago that was so close! When they showed the photo finish, the car that won had just deployed the chute and the other car had not deployed the chute yet. In a game of micro seconds (RT, ET, etc.) does this come into play?

I have noticed that all of my questions that i have posted, almost all of the people that support nascar know nothing about racing. For one- This guy Billy S, claims that Nascar is the most popular racing in the world. No, it is not. Formula 1 is by far the most popular racing series worldwide. Second, I saw somebody mention that nascar is stealing open wheel stars. Sam Hornish is pretty good at racing ovals, but he is not very good on the road courses. That will tell you something right there. As far as A.j. allmendinger is concerned, he was in one of the faster teams in champ car, and each race he won, sebastion bourdais was taken out. Plus, allmendinger would have stayed in champ car, but the red bull nascar team offered him more money. These drivers listed dont even come near being the best drivers in the world. So listen you idiot nascar fans on here: Dont post questions and answers when you have no idea what you are talking about. Formula 1 is the TOP series in the world.

do you think the fans of other forms of racing like to bad mouth nascar because there is not enough people interested in the F1 or IRL and Champ cars to even be able to talk about their sport on here?

For me its Tom Pryce. He was a flat out, great driver. He was a driver for a mid-pack kind of team, Shadow F1. He supposedly had an offer from Lotus to come drive for them, but turned it down. Very loyal if you ask me. In 1975, at the race of champions at Brands Hatch, he beat the likes of James Hunt, Jody Schecktor, Niki Lauda, etc. Again, with inferior equipment. He was a very quiet guy, which compared to alot of the drivers of that era is pretty unique. Also, he was from Wales. I believe besides him the only other driver to come from wales was alan rees. But Tom was the better of the two for sure. I myself am an american, and by all counts should have picked mario andretti, but i think If Tom Pryce would have not been killed in 1977, he would have won a few championships at least. He was only 27 when he died in a freak accident at Kyalami, South Africa. RIP Tom Pryce!

Well what do you know? Montoya came over here, and beat everybody on a road course. So i guess last year when they said nascar had the best drivers in the world, they were wrong. And the funny thing is, Montoya was not even close to being the best in formula1. He was having a terrible season in F1 last year, and opted out of his contract. He could have gone back to the IRL, or champcar. But, instead he chose Nascar. you know why? $$$ ! Nascar is over-paying those drivers like crazy. They certainly are not the best drivers, and yet are only second in salary to F1. Thats because these sponsors will shell out the big bucks, because they know most of us americans are watching this garbage. Americans love the crashes, the fights, and all the rest of the circus acts that make up Nascar. Because of this money, it is taking some good talent out of REAL series like IRL, and champ car. I dont get it america...what is so great about a bunch of heavy, slow cars going around ovals 500 times?

I like Montoya but I think the race was fixed. I think they set it up so Montoya could win. I think that race is also just a media attempt to lure more foreiners into the sport. The announcer said that allot of the drivers just jumped into a car with little or no practice at all. So I think thet are using Montoya as bait and set it up so that he wins so that he becomes the icon of latino racing. I really was quite turned off by the whole race. I like Montoya, but it was like everyone was licking his butt unitl it sparkled. Who else agrees with me?
