Thanks to idioterleague play, the Yankees visit the Giants in late June -- Rocket should be on the roster by then, Barry breathing down the record mark. Clemens is, without doubt, one of the least-caring pitchers when serving up longballs; he never gets upset, just calls for a new ball. Is he planning on taking the awesome historic and psychic burden of serving up Bonds' record-breaker home run himself, sparing all other pitchers and becoming a (very easy) trivia question? Or is it a plan for later, lifetime income on the autograph circuit? Is THIS why Clemens is coming back?

There hasn't been enough questions about Bonds or Clemens lately, so this one neatly ties them together. lol

It's funny most people jump to say Nash but Iverson has a Conference Championship by himself and Nash doesn't have one. So to say Nash is better when he has 0 Conference titles despite being surrounded by all stars seems a bit unfair. Also Jason Kidd has 2 Conference Titles.

Scenerio: Bases are loaded. The pitcher throws a wild pitch. Does the batter get credited with an RBI?
If he gets hit by the pitch or walks, he DOES... so what about a wild pitch?

I usually swim breaststroke, but I'd like to start with front crawl as well. But my kick is really bad. I also tried the dolphin kick, and I hardly advance at all.

I am in the market for a rifle with some history. I love the m1 but they are so pricey nowadays and the CMP is sold out for 7 months. Plus its a semi so I could not use it to hunt in PA. Or should I get a mauser. Great gun with alot of history that will have all the nazi markings and I would be able to use it for hunting. But ammo is expensive and rare compared to 30-06. Any opinions?

I find it hard to believe that Duncan is considered one of the all-time greats at his position, yet you hardly ever hear Robinson's name in this mention. I know one thing: the '99 or '03 team would not have been world champions without either man. They are both great, and the play for the classiest organization in sports.

Its great move if he stays and isn't disgruntled. Would you have made the move Bears fans.

On a side note. Its sad for Alan Branch. He only went into the draft cause he had a great chance of joining his favorite team (the redskins) and how the draft went, if the redskin got briggs, there is not doubt in my mind they would have grabbed him at that late first round pick.

I need to know that I'm not crazy. I need clarification on the following:
1. If a ball is fouled "off" the backstop, and caught by the catcher, I was informed that the catcher is charged with a put out, and the batter is called out.(Huhhhhhh!!!!!!....Isn't a rebounded foul ball considered a "dead ball"?)
2. If a pitch is foul tipped into the catcher's mitt, I was informed that the catcher is not credited with a put out, UNLESS it is the third strike. (wha' the explicative deleted.....isn't it consided a foul out, regardless of the hitter's count?)
3. I was informed that the first and third baseman are allowed to position themselves in foul territory, in order to hold the runner on base. This is done in order to get behind the bag, which enables a quicker tag on the baserunner. Firstbaseman, Keith Hernandez(1986 Mets), used to erase the foul line(in front and behind first base) in order to position his feet in foul territory. I thought this was illegal!!!

Can you explain personal foul, technical foul, and any other fouls there are? What exactly are they, and which fouls contribute to free shots, and how many free shots?

It seems like either a team ices the puck or doesn't ice the puck. Why is icing sometimes waived by the refs? In what circumstance(s) is waiving the icing warranted?

If you ask me, this is a tough question to answer. Being from Detroit, I'd want to say the Wings, but the Ducks have a faster and younger team.

I'll go on a limb and say Wings in 7 games.

And if it doesn't go the way I want it to and the Ducks win...

The Ducks in 6 games.

I believe it was Bill James and his Baseball abstract that postulated an interesting way to determine a players ability.
So in hockey, consider a player that you might think is the best ever, and then imagine a team full of that one player in his prime. For example imagine a team of 20 Gretzkys.
How would this team fare against another team made up of another great player? Lets assume that any team considered here would have average quality NHL goaltending, so we eliminate that factor.
Keep in mind that this player has to play forward and defense.
My view is that a team of Bobby Orrs would probably beat a team of any other player. Orr won the scoring title twice, something never done by any other defenceman. And he played excellent defence. He had the highest plus minus stats in history. And he could play a physical game too. A Gretzky team for example would lose to Orr because he could not play defense very well. If it is not Orr then it would have to be another D I would think.
