The saddle came off as in broken off or just the screws of the seat post lossend?

If it broke your seatpost, you will need a new one.
If you broke your saddle, you will need a new one.

If not, just fix it on and cycle on!

14miles is nothing compared to may cyclist who cycles thousands of miles over many years with no problems with the saddles

It happens. I'd bet it was just on loose. Time for a new bike. Or you put the seat back on. Either one.
