When I use that term, I mean the minor doctrinal points about which true Christians can disagree because the Bible does not speak in a clear straight forward manner about it. I never use it to mean that sin is okay, or to talk about something that scripture speaks clearly on.

However, I get the impression that some use it to mean that sin is not always sin, or that the Bible can be manipulated. So please clarify what You mean by it.

the Bible that these protestants are using belong to the Catholic Church, yet they are using it to their own advantage against the Catholic Church that provided them the Bible in the first place.

doesn't the Christian God supposed to hate ingratitude? so what are these protestants showing towards Catholicism? can anyone call it gratitude?

i am a muslim and I realy hate to explain to people why Islam is a peaceful religion because i know that what some muslims did to you guys in the name of Islam was awful and you kind of have the right to be pissed, but i want u to know that the quran is not the one responsible. People always quote verses from the Quran claiming they are violent for example: 2:191 And slay them wherever ye catch.. them..Such is the reward of disbeleivers.even as a muslim i fell into the trap of thinking that is violent and this is a common verse people use to prove that but the midsection of the verse is missing. lets look at the whole verse to c if it makes a diffrence. 2:191 And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of the unbeleivers.
makes a diffrence?

I'm an agnostic, if I die and there is a god and He/She is your god what would happen to me? After all it is the environment I am brought up in that mostly governs my religious views so it's not really my fault I'm an Agnostic/ Christian/Jew/Muslin/Hindi/Scientologist etc.

I'm interested in a wide range of religious views as possible.

Thanks

I have this sin that has really been bothering me. I try to repent of it, but I feel like I was not sincere and therefore not forgiven. When I don't feel forgiven, I tend to sin more. I don't feel the Holy Spirit convicting me of this sin like I use to. Can this happen to a Christian? This sin has almost become daily.

Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism, loved black people and even gave the priesthood to two black men (Elijah Abel, Walker Lewis). Why then, after his death, did his successor Brigham Young prevent Blacks from receiving the priesthood? The Mormon Scripture 2nd Nephi 26: 33 says "he (God) denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free." If the “Book of Mormon” says God wants blacks to come to him, why did Brigham Young stop them from entering the Temple? Didn't he believe the book of Mormon?

Here is another interesting thing.
At a time when blacks were still not allowed to enter the temple, a black woman named Jane Manning James was sealed to Joseph Smith (after his death) as a SERVANT on May 18th, 1894. Joseph F. Smith served as the proxy of Joseph Smith (the Original).

Do you believe that love is a supernatural phenomenon that cannot be explained or do you believe it is a balance of neurotransmitters in your brain? I asked this question earlier geared toward non-believers.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aljo6KqP2QGcGNSaFiFYk63sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071212082530AAhpNDQ

We live in a natural world so I am more inclined to lean toward a biological explanation. God is outside of our natural world, so we cannot view Him from a biological perspective. So His love for us, in my opinion, would be on a more supernatural scale. Whereas, our love for Him and others is on a more natural scale. What do you think?

I am in hell ,or on my way. The only thing I love in this life is women. I realised far too late that the only important thing is a wife who I love with every ounce of being. The lord gave me so many chances, I denied his gifts. I thought I would let the women I loved be with someone better, I should have been better. I felt I wasn't good enough. She's everything to me. I would be a monk for the rest of this life to maybe,if I can be forgiven, to have her as my wife in another life. And If I am unforgiven than I would give her alll my good deeds at the judgement of my soul. I have been the worst person imaginable. How I coud deny what God would have given me I can't even fathom. I feel my only hope is to be strong in this life and be faithful to God so I can receive his gifts. I hope my strength would carry over to the next life. I love her, I love her, I love her. I'm so sorry. Please tell me where I can be a monk or what sites I can go to, to contact. So many chances. I am a fool.

This isn't the exact one I'm talking about. In the other one, a mother has her son in the car with her and she's trying to run him down to kill him. I was kind of shocked that they would do an ad like that. Even my husband who tends to have a crude sense of humor was appalled by it. What are your thoughts on their new series of "Hit Mom's" ads?

Does anyone want the details on what I think about religion? I can almost guarantee it's not like anything you've heard before. I have beliefs... I'm not exactly a theist... but I'm not an atheist either. If you would like to know how I view religion, I'll post it later in details... but if not... oh well... I'll leave it alone.

So, Joe Smith was visited by the angel Moroni (who was a native American with white skin -- native Americans later became red skinned because they had gone away from god so god made them red....), who told him to dig in Palmyra, NY and find some golden plates. Joe found the plates and along with them seer stones that he could use to translate them. He was prohibited from showing anybody the plates, and just translated them into the Book of Mormon. Then the plates went up to heaven.

You guys actually believe Joe Smith didn't just make it up?

If there weren't people to tempt others, why would it be a reward to get into heaven. Also, if Judas hadn't defected from Jesus' ideals, and had him crucified, what would have happened? How would Jesus then be able to die for our sins?
On another thought, if there aren't people to defy God, then the antichrist will never come to power which would make the book of revalations irrelivent. so my real question is, does God let us sin so that others can know what goodness is?
