Now that you've given up God? As an agnostic, I feel like I've just been freed from prison. I might turn to God again one day but for now, I'm happy spiritually.

Before you go off the deep and say absolutely not, no religion in school, separation of church and state, blah, blah, blah, then consider this. Harry Potter is on the list, it teaches of Witchcraft and sorcery. Do you say ‘that’s fiction’ so it doesn’t count’? How many of you say the very same thing about the Bible, that it is ‘fiction written by bronze age bigots’. Are you ready to tell the Witches on here that their religion is ‘fiction so it doesn’t count’? Or Look at ‘His Dark Materials’ series, which start with ‘The Golden Compass’. It’s on the reading list, and it deals in religion from start to finish. Aren’t some being a bit two faced with this one? Bare in mind, the bible is not on said suggested reading list, it almost always draw a hateful response from many teachers, and it almost never will receive a fair grade. So who is REALLY pushing their religion into the schools? Be honest now

How would people of the time have viewed an unmarried 30 year old Jewish man.

What motive could the early church have for hiding that fact as they tried to hide the Gnostic Gospels.?

Why is over half of the life of this "son" god not even mentioned in the bible?

Logical answers would be appreciated.

Today, I have learned that

-The Sun was too big for water to have existed on earth 20 000 years ago.
-Mutations were never observed - ever.
-A great majority of paleontologist fudge data.
-DNA replicates perfectly (Didn't seem to cross their minds two animals are involved in sexual reproduction).

Plus, they present this and then act all proud, like it's supposed to pose a serious challenge to the scientific community.
I would love to see these asked in the biology section to see what the hard-core students of genetics would answer.
Or is it just sad?

Or, I guess you could say bungee-had. Anyway, it works like this : anyone who wants to do a suicide bombing picks their target, and a giant bungee rope jump is set up at the site. Before the person jumps, they have to estimate the amount of time it will take to reach the bottom, and set a timer. If they set it right, they inflict major damage on the "infidels" and "win". If they are wrong at all, they bounce back up and blow only themselves up, so they "lose". People could even gamble on it. I mean - think about it - it has everything we love : gambling, competition, violence, chance of death or serious injury. So what do you think - will you join the "bunjihad"?

I'm just curious and I honestly want to understand your point of view. And if you never did believe in God, without bashing anyone, can you tell me what turns you off about the thought?

How big would the Sun be 4.6 Billion years ago?
My kids and I tried to run some numbers, but we think there are some errors in our calculations:

The sun shrinks 2 feet every hour.
So here is the equation:

2 ft x 24 hr x 365 days / 5280 = 3,32 miles per year of shrinkage

3.32 miles x 4,6 billion years, added to the sun = 1,517,000,000 Billion more miles. This puts is just 200 million miles short of Uranus.

This means that the Earth did not exist or could not have existed 4,6 billion years ago.

What say ye?
