In the OT, as was common in many ancient religions, animal sacrifice was seen as a way to appease god and cleanse sin, and the greater the value of the animal, the greater the value of the appeasement or cleansing gained by its sacrifice. Human sacrifice was practiced by many cultures since humans were viewed as more important than animals, and therefore their sacrifice was worth more. So the sacrifice of a child of god itself would be worth the most. Is the story of the sacrifice of Jesus therefore akin to human sacrifice?

My money is on Cthulhu

From Zephaniah 3:9 we can see that Yahweh himself sees a need for a pure language, why? So we can call on His name with one consent.

Exodus 23:13
“And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the names of other gods, neither let it be heard out of your mouths.” AMEN.
This word cited at the finish of almost every Christian prayer has to be one of Ha Satan’s greatest deceptions. So very close to the original word, but far enough away, to have had all of us at sometime calling on the name of a pagan god at the end of each prayer. Amen-Ra was the name of an Egyptian god.

In the book of Job the devil comes to God and says if your man (Job or joab) Wasn't so well off he would turn on you. So the devil and God make a bet that the devil can't turn Job. God permits "the Satan" to put the virtue of Job to the test, at first by giving him power over his property, but forbidding him to touch his person. Satan began by taking away all of Job's riches, his livestock, his house, his servants, and his children. He declines to answer any of Job's questions or challenges with anything except "I am the Lord." In the epilogue, YHVH condemns Job's friends for their insistence on speaking wrongly of the Lord's motives and methods, commands them to make extensive animal sacrifices and instructs Job to pray for their forgiveness. Immediately thereafter YHVH restores Job to health, giving him double the riches he before possessed So misfortune isn't always a punishment sometimes it's God..what? Screwing with us? Please explain this. I understand Revelations easier.

Do you personally actually believe the planet Earth is only 6,000 years old?

If you found proof for yourself that convinced you it wasn't 6000 years old, but in fact much older? Would that put a question in your mind about your faith? Or is it just a side issue to you that really has nothing to do with Jesus on the cross?

Personally, I see where it's an issue with those who claim the bible is "perfect and literal". But then, those who believe that would also believe in a talking donkey and stoning kids to death for talking back, would they not?

Writing a paper on thesis that Christianity does promote, to some level, individualism in its followers. Thus, explaining why the "western" world is highly more individualized then the "eastern" world.

What are your thoughts?

can you prove the existence of god without using any faith based reasoning or the bible (aka only scientific reasons). This was attempted in a debate by Dateline NBC and it failed miserably.

What is European Catholic Church dogma?

Would the European Pope instantly die or simply be instantly excommunicated?

Is this the theory the Evolutionary community is going to run with?
And it just so happens that we are in the shrinking cycle, so we are still alive to observe the phenomenon?
And it just so happens that there are a lot of theories about how the Sun will once again cycle up and expand, but none of it is observable or verifiable?

So in other words, I have to take what the Evolutionist says by faith, right. Even though the Sun is currently shrinking, by faith I will believe that the Evolutionary theories are right and it will cycle into a growth pattern again.
