here's the deal,
bible says it's impossible to please god without faith.
where does faith come from.
bible says faith comes by hearing the word of god.
so whether you get something out of it or not.
(which I normally do)
you should still go to build your faith.

No I by no means cross to church anymore. I did cross to a few funerals final yr in church buildings however I had no alternative as that's in which the funerals have been staged. I was once raised Lutheran so while I went to the funeral in a Catholic church I concept it unnecessarily ceremonious. Soon after I went to the opposite funeral in a Lutheran church and despite the fact that moderately much less ceremonious the pompous angle was once simply as worrying. The structure within the older church buildings is special to seem at, very grand in scale and element. Newer church buildings are tucked away in commercial facilities. Square tilt up bunkers. it sort of feels like they're ashamed to spend the money on a constructing. Better to shop for a limo with a motive force I wager.

I've only been to a church once. It was the strangest place I'd ever been to. Ppl were singing songs they didn't understand in latin, the priest was yelling "Praise the Lord" every 10 minutes, and there was actually a gift shop in the back. The sermon was about the wrongs of adultery, and it looked like the priest was saying it louder than normal and in the direction of a woman in the first row, who kept blushing and looking at the clock.
I far prefer the sinagogue where I go now. The head rabbi is very interesting (and very funny). I have learned a great deal from his sermons that I use in everyday life.

Yes and no, I listen to the church sermons but not always wholeheartedely, nor have they made an impact in my life or changed it in any way. Why do you ask?

I've only been to a church twice in my life. 1) When I was baptized 2) When my aunt got married. Never understood any of the sermons.

Yes, I attended church regularly for 30 years, I even delivered several sermons throughout that time. Looking back, I don't think that it really helped my life at all and in some cases definitely hurt it.

I find if the sermon is related to something which I understand and with humour. Then I can follow the priests teaching and apply them myself to everyday situations.

Yes.
I have had the Pastor preach and it has always somehow related to what I was going through that morning before church or the feeling I felt when I awoke early in the morning. It helps me to have a better outlook throughout my week. It is great to hear the God's word when you need to hear it most. -God Bless.

Every Sunday I listen very closely and understand because I am hungry for God's word. Our Pastor preaches right out of the Bible so learning about God's plans, purposes and precepts gives me more power to witness to others and to keep my own life in accordance to God's wishes. .

Yes.
I spent most of my life going to church, and heard many sermons that were applicable to my life, and that helped me.
But I also heard many that caused me great pain, and caused me to treat family members with a complete lack of respect because I was worried about their eternal life.
Overall I think the sermons I heard were harmful, because they supported a belief in violence and called it loving. Harsh but true.
