I actually heard the host of a christian radio show trying to explain this last night to a caller. i sh** you not that he said that "neandrethal man was actually a really clever being, they created art, glue, and tools...those are things that god instilled in humans, therefore, god created us"

if the earth is 6,000 years old - how come Chinese people lived here 10,000 years ago?

The spookiest thing I'm experiencing now in recent years is the growing number of Americans who are insisting that Earth isn't any older than 6,000 years. Can it really be true that America is going backwards to an age of ignorance and superstition, where science is as reviled as Galileo once was? When I grew up, I had believed that America was at the forefront of science and rationality, and we were the best and the brightest. I don't believe that any more. I'm just saddened and appalled.

1) The oldest desert in the world is less than 4,400 years old.
2) The oldest coral reef in the world is less than 4,400 years old.
3) The oldest tree in the world is less than 4,400 years old.
4) The flood occurred 4,400 years ago.
5) The layering of the fossil-bearing strata are caused by hydrologic sorting from a global flood, not by "millions of years" of laying down of dirt - especially since there are no erosion marks between the layers.
6) All comets are less than 10,000 years old.
7) If the moon is moving away from the Earth at a rate of 1" per year, the Earth could be no older than 6,000-10,000 years old without causing some serious problems with the moon being far too close to the Earth.
8) If the Earth's spin is slowing down, then "millions of years ago" it would be spinning so fast the dinosaurs would fly off.
9) If the sun is gradually losing size and energy, then "millions of years ago" it would have been so big it would have devoured the Earth.
10) The geneological records of early man recorded in the Bible are accurate, and place the creation of Man at approximately 6,000 years ago.
11) Neanderthal Man was really just a modern, postdiluvian human who still retained some of the features of his pre-flood ancestors, who were giants. They were also extremely intelligent. Their skull bones were thicker because they were still living up to 400 years old (the new atmosphere would not allow them to live to 900 anymore) and thickening of the skull bones is a medical symptom of great age. They showed signs of rickets because of a lack of sunlight due to the post-flood volcanic activity. They only lived primitively for a short while because they were in a "Gilligan's Island" type of situation. It would take a while for them to find the ore in the mountains to start making more sophisticated tools and weapons. Even evolutionists admit that the fossil record shows a great leap in tool/weapon innovation. It wasn't because they suddenly got "smart"; it was because they suddenly found the resources. They already had the intelligence.

This 6000 year Earth is a popular misinterpretation of the scriptures. I'm a Christian and when I read Genesis, it seems that it doesn't say when the Earth was first created by God, Genesis 1;2 says that the Earth was in darkness(or became dark). It is stupid how some Christians are too stubborn to read the scriptures for them selves instead of letting some lazy preacher interpret it for them.

Well you have to believe the Bible, if not I can see why you dont believe. Almost all scientists believe it was about 4000 years ago when Abraham left the land of Ur. All you have to do from there is trace the lineage in Genesis 5 which is about 2000 years.

there is no such thing as a neandrethal man. However, I believe that the earth is only 6000 years old because I says so in the bible. If you got all the dates in the Bible and the 2007 years up til now, it would equal up to around 6000 years. God made the earth with the appearance of age, so that's why so many evolutionists have a problem with it.

The 6000 year number comes from Adding up all the life spans in the Bible from Adam to today.

As if it didn't skip anyone.

Neanderthal man was a diseased human being. They found about 400 bones of the Neanderthals so my best assumption would be that the disease was hereditary.

Did you know that in theory of evolution it was taught for a long time that Neanderthal man had intermingled by other human types and recently that was changed to they simpled died out?

And here you thought all this time that you had a great Uncle Neader. To bad.
