The passages in Matthew 10:34-35 and Luke 12;49-53 HAVE TROUBLED ME FOR A LONG TIME. Now more than ever with the ongoing religious wars with Isalm. Also in view of so many fundamentalists that believe the Bible (in particular the King James Version) is the literal utterances of God. If these are the words of God how are we who love peace to understand them and the categorization of him who uttered them as "The Prince of Peace?"

Was he an enraged parent who finally came to his senses, and trying to placate Isaac, he told him that God told him to do it, so the child would continue to trust him ?
Do you think this story spawned the question "what in God's name do you think you are doing"?

Let us see what the Quran says about women. It says “men have a degree (of advantage) over them” 2:228 ; that the witness of woman is worth half of that of man 2:282; that women inherit half of their male siblings, 4:11-12; that a man can marry two or three or four women 4:3; that if a women becomes captive in a war, her Muslim master is allowed to rape her 33:50; that if a woman is not totally submissive to her husband she will enter Hell 66:10; that women are “tilth” for their husbands (to cultivate them) 2:223; that men are in charge of women, as if women were imbeciles or minors who could not take care of themselves; that they must be obedient to their husbands or be admonished (verbally abused), banished from the bed (psychologically abused) and beaten (physically abused) 4:34.

Is this fair? and is this " Allah" a man you are willing to worship?

1.)Sigh, so many of you ridicule and deny evolution, and dismiss it as hogwash, a hoax, devil's work, etc...
2.) Yet, when, on this forum, someone says evolution and Christianity can coexist, you all seem to agree. My point? See #1
3.)When someone says that the bible and evolution contradict, which actually agrees with YOUR view on #1, you all seem to reach for the thumbs-down button

You seem internally conflicted when it comes to the issue.

So which one is it, do you accept or deny evolution, or are you just confused about the whole thing?

What is appropriate for a non-Muslim like myself to do while interacting with a Muslim, I have heard contradicting statements.
1. Is it ok to talk to a female Muslim? Someone told me that it is ok as long as I am not married, because I will be considered a 'boy' or not a man, and therefore it would be acceptable for her to speak with me, at least on some level. I have also been told that it is wrong for a muslim woman to speak to a non-relative male at all.
2. Attempting to draw, describe, or discuss the prophet is punishable by death.
3. Is the Female style of dress achoice, or a religious requirement, I am confused because some girls dress traditionally only some of the time. Also, why do males have no rules at all regarding their dress? Are they considered ugly, and therefore do not need to worry about tempting women? sorry, a little offensive I know, but it really does interest me as to the reasoning. Any other advice/ information youd like to share would be appreciated.

A few groups including the Catholic church has stated that some forms of discrimination against them is just and have said that homosexuals should not suffer from unjust discrimination (though I doubt the sincerity of their good intentions) and if they do discriminate, what sort of discrimination?

For instance: If God says it is evil to kill the innocent, then why is it not considered evil when He does it? Have you ever wondered that sort of thing or do you think that God is allowed to do whatever He wants, even if it would be considered evil if a human did it?

Yes, I know it is still a theory at this point, but so is gravity, my friends. Do you not believe that gravity?

Is it not possible to believe in God and accept evolution as fact?

For the record, I am an agnostic who completely accepts all aspects of evolution as fact.

Are there still people who really believe that the earth was created in 4004 B.C.?

The doctrine goes that Jesus took on the sins of the entire world and put them on Himself. So that means that once He died, He went to hell right? Sinners go to hell by just carrying their own sins. But Jesus carried all the sins of men living at that time and men's future sins that they would commit. How could He have made it to heaven with all that sin on Him?

Remember, it has to be a useful gift, a symbolic gift, and a modern gift. If it were me, I'd bring him a digital camcorder, so this time he could record himself his own words and their meaning, rather than leaving them to be written and interpreted by others.

You?

Scientists seem to believe so whole heartedly in this evolution thing, I don't get why everyone can't see they are the ones with the agendas and not the religious folk.

The evidence is clearly for God, and the scientists have nothing but a theory to feed their left-wing extremist agendas of a God less atheistic world.
