1.)Sigh, so many of you ridicule and deny evolution, and dismiss it as hogwash, a hoax, devil's work, etc...
2.) Yet, when, on this forum, someone says evolution and Christianity can coexist, you all seem to agree. My point? See #1
3.)When someone says that the bible and evolution contradict, which actually agrees with YOUR view on #1, you all seem to reach for the thumbs-down button
You seem internally conflicted when it comes to the issue.
So which one is it, do you accept or deny evolution, or are you just confused about the whole thing?

They change their beliefs based on the situation. There is no logical sense. For the sake of my sanity I became atheist because it was too difficult to try to figure out what exactly you are supposed to believe as a Christian.
For example:
You have to be Republican
against women's rights
against gay marriage.
Against abortion, yet FOR the death penalty..
You can't believe in ghosts, EXCEPT the holy ghost
You can't believe in astrology, or aliens on other planets, BUT you are supposed to believe God made Everything (including stars and planets) for a reason.
You are supposed to believe that God is the master of your life, BUT you are also supposed to believe in freewill.
You are supposed to believe that when people die they go to wonderful Heaven, BUT when someone you know dies you are supposed to cry like you will never see them again.
You are supposed to believe that proof of God is in creation, BUT you are also supposed to believe in God by faith only.
You are supposed to believe in one God only BUT you are also supposed to believe that other religions follow a different God.
I could probably go on but I hope I made my point.

No Confusion.
I'm a Confessional Lutheran and I do believe in the creation story without reservation or qualifications.
Are plants and animals the same now as they were at the moment of creation? No. Is man the same now as then. No.
This sure sounds and looks like evolution to me.
Are various species of plants and animals extinct? Yes.
This would seem to be survival of the fittest.
If one accepts the miracle of creation, then one must also accept the wonder of the survival, and adaptation of the different species that God created.
Denying evolution (part of God's creation) is denying the omnipotence of God.
This works for me, and should also work for ALL Christians who don't have their head up where the sun don't shine.

Evolution does exist, if you study science from an objective view. Not the way it's been taught though. Anyone heard about micro evolution? To accept bogus stories that have absolutely no empirical evidence, or logic is not science. Therefore, any true Christian will actually encourage science. No scientist is a true scientist until he studies all the faces of a problem. If you start with a theory of make believe and arrive at some conclusions that seem to fit in, that's not being truthful to the evidence, is it?
Pure science looks at evidence, and assesses it accordingly, and will not be biased by some astrological numbers that can't ever be proven.
I would love to challenge anyone who can actually prove beyond a shadow of doubt that evolution is actually true, not just a figment of Darwin's imagination. Now there are forms of evolution in the micro-system, I am not talking about that, those happen under our very eyes, so to speak, and they can be documented. But to pretend that the world exploded randomly, c'mon, you gotta give me more than that.. or to pretend that you know the age of the earth to be so many billions of years old...etc... that's just impossible to determine. We can't determine a few centuries behing, yet we pretend to play with astrological numbers like we have them all in the pinkie finger. Sorry, but I don't go for that. Unless you can prove it. Otherwise it's just another religion, and here's where I get to choose. You with your religion and I with mine. OK?
The Bible was written by a lot of people in a very long leap of time. They arrived at the same concept, without checking each other's work. I have more reasons to believe the Bible than a book written about one man, at some point in time, not very long ago.. haha... and then a whole circus started to unravel. Darwin opened a can of worms, and now they devoured him!
Think about it. It's ridiculous!
Now I didn't say I can prove the Bible to be true. But I find it a lot more believable than the "Theory of Evolution" - it makes more sense to me.
I can actually find evidence that supports the facts described in the Bible, but I could not say the same thing for the whole evolution concept.
And I have studied "evolution" for 24 years... Yup! I am old. But not that old. I can still keep up with science, can you?
So whether you respect Christians or not for their belief, it doesn't matter...
And the contradictions are only apparent because it's not just one person that checks all those buttons. I don't know how come you don't know that.
Sorry for the long lecture, but I thought you may want to know that some forms of evolution are actually agreed upon by even Christians.
So, some Christians will or will not agree with science, depending on how "science " is handled. We just refuse to believe lies. And refuse to consider "The Theory of Evolution" as science. Unless we're talking about the science of "make believe", and I am being nice, here. So far the discoveries of pure science have actually revealed Biblical truths, that were disproved in other centuries and considered heresy... Think about it.

I'm confused about life in general. We're all asking questions which have no answers and asking for proof that can never be found.
Just accept that science and Christianity will not peacefully co-exist until well into the distant future.

I will try to put it in a nutshell without sounding like a nut... I used to believe that evolution and creation were able to coexist and I rationalized it out like, "Adam and Eve were the 1st apes to be a human, cuz like God reached down and touched them and made them special..." But that was before I really thought it through...
Cuz if you stop and think about just how many zillions of life forms would have to be going on and constantly changing all the time (including the present), all the missing middle links and the middle of the middle missinglinks (to the x power) the earth couldn't hold them all, nor would the time factor allow. ANNNND the biggest part of that fallacy which is easily discerned is that we should see all those intermediate, or inbetween, steps around us today, but we don't.
The species stay clear and distinct from one another down through the generations. There is some lattitude given for adaptation but it does not ever create a new species.
When a scientist is really honest he will admit first of all that
Darwin's "theory" of evolution does not even qualify as a theory under the definition of theory... it fails the test! At best it was, and still is, a "postulation" or at best an unproven "hypothesis".
Secondly, an honest scientist will have to admit that as we go deeper and deeper into the workings of biology, it's waaaay more complicated than originally thought, and if that scientist is really honest, he or she will have to admit that even a single "simple" cell is faaaaar more complicated than a swiss watch, and yet if you were to be asked if a swiss watch could ever form by itself (given enough time in a universe in flux), would you even for one moment consider that it did not have a creator?
Like for instance, for one single simple(?) cell to work, all the chemicals and atoms that make up the proteins, the cell walls, the nucleus (like amino acids and all the rest of the stuff in there) have to be together "just so" and 'ex'cluding all the stuff that shouldn't be there, and evolution is asking us to believe that it "just happened"? by accident??? and not just once, but over and over? Then you get into more complex life forms where there are trillions of cells of varying kinds linked together formed into a working unit such as a human body... To believe that this came about by chance or happenstance is akin to believing that an entire set of encyclopedias could form by itself, every letter and word in exactly the right place to be readable in every volume A-Z... WITHOUT ONE ERROR!
And thirdly, any honest scientist will agree that more amd more scientific data is being discovered showing that the hand of a Creator is indeed evident throughout everything, from the earth we live on to the smallest particle in it and outward to the cosmos and the balance we see throughout; and every living thing within this system included.
If you understand the 2nd Law of Thermo-dynamics, you will see that ordered life forms go directly against this, for it is evident in nature that things (without life in them) left to themselves ALWAYS get simpler and LESS orderly... and this is where LIFE comes in... who can explain what life is and where it started or how it started? NO ONE! except for those who walk the bridge of faith to the One who made it all, and told us. And it is this very thing, LIFE, that makes it possible for the elements of the universe to rise up and defy the 2nd law of thermodynamics and form complex orderly entities. The explanation starts in Genesis... read it and you will have your best account of how it all began.
Anyhow, after quite a bit of thought on the matter, and I really didn't care what other people thought, I only wanted the truth, I finally changed my mind on the Adam and Eve being the 1st apes to be humans. Human DNA is closer to some other animal than an ape anyhow. The reason all the animals have similarities is because they were created by the same Artist/Genius! NOT because they "evolved" from one another... If there was any evolution going on at all, it was in God's mind as he thought them up. So the way it happened is that God put it all together and then breathed LIFE into it.
Bottom line: If evolution is one big lie (which it is), WHY?
The answer: If evolution is true, then we would not need God to make/create us. So, the reason that the enemy of our souls wants us to believe in evolution is to keep us away from believing in God! I encourage you to read the many good books out there (written by scientists) on the side of creation before you make up your mind. Most of all, ask God, through Jesus His son, to grant you wisdom as you seek the truth. He said that those who seek WILL find. And God bless you in your quest.

They seem to think that a 'wristwatch' disproves the evolution of and adaptation of organisms. As if a wristwatch is a living thing.
It is merely arguing from both ignorance and incredulity.
