Hello Sara.

OK everyone, some of us had some fun, most of it not in too excessively poor taste. But, to the question.
According to The Bible and what little non-biblical historic records exist referring to Jesus, He never married. (Despite the movie and all it's cryptic DaVinci references). To argue whether a 30 something year old Jewish man of those times should have been married (based on the practices of the times, I presume) or not is roughly the same as arguing whether the Son Of God ever used the bathroom. There doesn't seem to be any Biblical of historical record of it.
As for Mary Magdalen, it is unclear in The Bible whether or not she even was the adulteress Jesus saved from being stoned by asking , "he who is without sin" (a personal favorite of mine) to throw the first stone.
Then there is the question of His Mother Mary's dieing. Again, to my knowledge there are no historic records of her death but it is believed by Catholics and several other Christian denominations that she was carried to heaven while still living by angels. I believe The Bible makes reference to this but won't make that a firm statement until I can look it up.
Right now it's late and I'm going to bed.

Regards,

Lenny.

Addendum : On researching the Assumption (not Ascension as in the rising of Christ to Heaven) Of The Virgin Mary today I found:

Both Roman and Orthodox Catholic Church Doctrine, which is also believed by the followers of some of the Protestant denominations of Christianity is that Mary did pass away from this earth between three to fifteen years after Christ's Crucifixion in the presence of the apostles. She is further believed to have been buried in a tomb most likely to have been in Jerusalem though Ephesus also is considered by some to be the site of her burial. Shortly afterwards, her tomb was found to be empty. It is further believed, again by Catholics and certain others she was lifted up (assumed) into heaven to live there as one who prays for us and uses her special favor with God to intercede for us (advocate) our causes to Him. Most Fundamentalists beliefs range from it being acceptable to revear her (not pray to her), as an example of a good and virtuous life to revearing her in any way being akin to idol worship.

It seems we all can learn from this forum including myself, a Catholic.

Jesus was never married, and Christ is not His last name.

The word “Christ” is an anglicized form of the Greek word Christos, and since from Matthew 1:1 to Revelation 22:21 the word "Christ" appears 555 times in 522 verses, it seems that it would be a good idea to know the meaning of a word that has so many direct usage's, and essentially the entire new testament talking about it. Christos has the same meaning as the Hebrew 'mashiyach {maw-shee-akh} ' which is rendered 'messiah' in the king James and most other translations. It means 'the Anointed One and or his Anointing'.

It is not His last name, the name "Jesus" is derived from the Greek "Iesous", this is the Greek equivalent of the Hebrew "Yehoshua" (pronounced 'Yeshua') which is rendered "Joshua" in the old testament. Interestingly enough, it means "Yahweh is Salvation". So if you follow Hebrew tradition, Jesus full name spoken in Hebrew would be 'Yeshua bar Yosef', or Jesus son of Joseph. Of course we know that Jesus was not actually the son of Joseph, but so far as the people living then knew, he was.

In poverty and obscurity.

Of course, it's likely the whole story is fiction. But it's likely that a 30-year-old Jewish man would have been married. And we all know about how women are depicted in the bible, as wombs who become the rib appendages to men with larger religious or political schemes.
