Let us see what the Quran says about women. It says “men have a degree (of advantage) over them” 2:228 ; that the witness of woman is worth half of that of man 2:282; that women inherit half of their male siblings, 4:11-12; that a man can marry two or three or four women 4:3; that if a women becomes captive in a war, her Muslim master is allowed to rape her 33:50; that if a woman is not totally submissive to her husband she will enter Hell 66:10; that women are “tilth” for their husbands (to cultivate them) 2:223; that men are in charge of women, as if women were imbeciles or minors who could not take care of themselves; that they must be obedient to their husbands or be admonished (verbally abused), banished from the bed (psychologically abused) and beaten (physically abused) 4:34.

Is this fair? and is this " Allah" a man you are willing to worship?

lol It is funny. This is what YOUR Quran says, and I am asking why is this ok in your religion? not to mention the rape of little children- even infants. If you can not answer this question .. please do not answer. And I have you know, My God is JESUS not Allah of Islam. and no, My God does NOT allow this kind of acts. Men are to love thier wives, and Jesus loves his church!

Deut.13: 1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

A prophet of God must be in agreement with the words of the prophets and the known word of God.

1John 2: 22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [but] he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

1John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

Anyone who claims to be a prophet of God must agree Jesus is the Christ the Son of God who is our savior.

2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist

Gal. 1: 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

If an angel or a man preach a different gospel he is not of God.

This is the Allah of Islam?

First of all, I thought you question was legitimate and then I read further....at least half of what you wrote is taken out of context. Then you have your own stuff added in paranthesis. You are not looking for real answers. Women inherit less because men are the MAINTAINERS of women. A woman has the RIGHT to be maintained by her father, brother(s), husband and son(s). She does not have to work. The men get more money because they have more people they ARE REQUIRED to take care of. Rape is not allowed in Islam. I would continue but you are so off base with the rest of what you wrote I won't bother. What you posted is NOT in MY QURAN so quit trying to pretned that it is.

Allah is lord of the worlds --not a man. We don't worship a man like some Christians do (as in Jesus). That makes you a MAN WORSHIPPER. Even Arab Christians use the term Allah for God. Pick up a real book for once, you just might learn something!

What diluted form of Christianity do you follow that allows you to continue on not reading the bible and knowing that a Christian woman is supposed to be much more submissive than a Muslim woman? A Muslim woman submits to God where the Christian bible says she must submit to her husband.

i can't believe this, did you really read the whole paragraph of translation? or did you get it from some random place? it
ople who report the news, adding your own opinion by leaving out important information.
i'll use this as an example, 2:228- its about divorce, why did u leave out the part where it says, " Divorced women shall wait concerning themselves for three monthly periods. Nor is it lawful for them to hide what Allah has created in their wombs, if they have faith in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands have better right to take them back in that period, if they wish for reconciliation. And women have rights similar to those (of men) over them in a just manner, but have a degree (of responsibility) over them."
do you know what that means? if they're divorced and she's pregnant (thats why they wait 3 months) he has be responsible and not leave her in the dust, but to help take care of her and the kid ,how many times have u heard of stories where the father leaves the women and child?
and about the witness, you left out a lot in that paragraph of translation, like there should be two women in case one of them errs.
and with the inheritance, the women gets something! some people are so greedy they won't even give the women anything. and she gets half because if she's married she has a husband to take care of her.
and 4:3 to- 4:12? i don't know what's wrong with you. it says nothing about rape. and again you left out the part about orphans and wives, if you can't deal with them justly , then only one wife or " or (a captive) that your right hands possess that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice."
i don't have time to go through the rest, but i can assure u and anybody else that what you did was leave out a lot of information which is unfair and i'm not completely blaming you, the arabic translation is more meaningful when you know the language, not what you've read and not researched yourself.
and the muslims believe that Islam is a continuation of Christianity. How Islam came to be was because the Christians misunderstood Jesus, they started worshiping him (and not God) after he performed a few miracles, so Allah sent Muhammad to correct them. Sure Jesus was and is wonderful, but some people missed the whole point and focused on Jesus and what he did. They didn't understand that he was allowed to do that because God blessed him so he can help the people.
and i hope you know that PEOPLE do bad things not a religion, people do bad things then say its a part of their religion, they're are cowards.

Why are you asking Muslims they would invent a reason for everything. It's a male made religion

Just for the record, if you call yourself a Christian, Allah is your God. Islam is a continuation of Christianity just as Christianity is a continuation of Judaism yet a different religion. "Allah" is Arabic for "God" and "God" is English for "Yahweh". The three Abrahamic religions [Judaism, Christianity, and Islam] still worship the same deity. Deal with it.

****
"And I have you know, My God is JESUS not Allah of Islam."

And I'll have you know, then, that your god is Jesus -- but Jesus is an incarnation of God. Unless you're saying that you worship some random guy who lived over 2,000 years ago because some other people, most of whom didn't even live when he did, wrote conflicting accounts of his life and deeds which may have alluded to him having supernatural powers... then again, who's to say what the original writings said. They have been translated a number of times. Your God is very much the Yahweh of Judaism and the Allah of Islam. It's the same deity with different names BECAUSE of the language differences.

****
Now I remember why I avoided the Religion & Spirituality section for so long. Instead of being a coward, why not research your faith. Questioning it and learning about it can only strengthen something that deep. Pick up a book and actually read the whole damned thing -- not just the parts which suit your arguments.

Agree or not, women and men are created differently, we will easily find book about how to understand women and how to understand men, those books came because everyone agree that (not only physically) women and men are different.
Should we treat different people in the same way? I guess not.
Fair doesn't mean give something with same amount, but take something appropriately.
I believe that both of men and women are granted different advantage and also disadvantage. Allah gives advantages to men (2:228) and make them as protectors and maintainers for women (4:34).
As leader in their family, men have responsibility to fulfill their family needs, earn money to feed his family, pay their education. So it’s very very fair if men inherit 2x than women (4:11-12). Because a woman doesn’t need her money to feed her family, when a woman works and earns money, the money will be her own only, and if she wants to give it to help her husband to feed family, then Allah will reward her, but it’s not a sin if she spends the money to buy what she needs.
I wonder how dare you put ABUSE words in the translation of Quran 4:34?
It’s fine you ask about Quran, but it’s not ok you give wrong translation
Here the complete translation
Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient (to Allah and to their husbands), and guard in the husbands absence what Allah orders them to guard (e.g. their chastity, their husbands property, etc.). As to those women on whose part you see illconduct, admonish them (first), (next), refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly, if it is useful), but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance). Surely, Allah is Ever Most High, Most Great.
Men have rights to beat his wife if his wife becomes disobedient TO ALLAH and disobedient to husband when husband orders her to be a devout Muslim.
Men as leader for his wife should lead his wife to be pious to Allah. If a man asks his wife to do something forbidden in Islam, woman has rights to refuse him and It’s sin to beat his wife because she refuse to do something forbidden in Islam. Women have rights to ask divorce if her husband can’t be a good leader for her and tries to mislead her, or makes her become disobedient to Allah. It’s very very fair!

BTW, is your bible fair enough, when a woman got abused by his husband, but she must stay with that man? And have no rights to divorce? I don't think that's fair

And... You should read 109:1-6
Say : O you that reject Faith!
I worship not that which you worship
Nor will you worship that which I worship
And I shall not worship that which you are worshiping
Nor will you worship that which I worship
To you be your religion, and to me my religion (Islamic Monotheism)

You must have picked up the Christian Missionary version of the Quran, you know, just like the Christian Bible has been changed by Christians too.

Jesus would be ashamed of you!

For the record, Allah of Islam is not the same god of Christian and Judeo religions. And in fact, his false prophet Mohammed advocates extreme violence to Christians and Jews. Please RESEARCH your facts THOROUGHLY from MANY DIFFERENT sources before posting . Nothing is more unattractive than ignorance.

Peace be unto you.

EDIT: TickledGreen, Muslims are so sure of themselves and their faith? Then why do they have a hissyfit and threaten violence whenever their book is quoted? Could it be that they don not want the light of truth shining on the fallacies of their religion for all the world to see? Doesn't sound too "sure of themselves" to me, lol. If you are strong in your faith, surely a naysayer wouldn't upset you to the point where you are foaming at the mouth for violence would it? Why not just give your interpretation politely like everyone else here is doing and quit being a naughty brat with your threats? Please?

Peace be unto you.

I could go into a whole long explanation of those texts, which you are interpreting in the English translation, not in the true Arabic which some ideas are not translatable and interpreted subtly differently..
but you need to read the bible.. it is filled with rapes, pedophilia, murder, etc...

amish, no way is Islam a continuation of Christianity. If it were, it would accept the Christian holy book, the core of which is the Injil (Gospel). It rejects almost all of it, conveniently claiming, in effect, that God failed to protect it from mere human tinkering. My God is not so weak as that.
