. . . and probably be at least nominally Christian, if in name only? First off, he can't be an atheist, as there would be no point to an atheist opposing someone he doesn't even believe exists. Same thing for agnostics -- why oppose something you're not sure of? Would it not be evil poetic justice of a sort for the AntiChrist to come out of a Christian background?

I ask this as a practicing Christian, just trying to get a feel for how y'all think on this -- not out of a warped sense of inflammatory "fun".

In other words, should only a Christian/Judaism course on intelligent design be taught or perhaps a Hinduism view point or perhaps a paganism perspective would be better?Naturally, when you introduce a belief, and intelligent design is 100% a belief and 0% proved fact, you have to consider all beliefs. So, which one would be the one that gets taught? In evolution or the big bang theory, there are no huge differences in the basic underlying concept. So, people are not graded on what they believe. But in intelligent design, you would indeed be graded on whether or not you buy into one certain God versus another God or Gods.

So, which one would be the right God or Gods to teach intelligently designed the world/universe in the classroom?Naturally, it would only be yours, right?

I was just wondering if anyone could expand on what the bible means by 'Jesus died for our sins'?

1) Does that refer to sins past, present and future?

2) If so, does that mean that no matter what we do, we will be forgiven?

3) [because I have a feeling that remorse for your sins would be an additional requirement to being forgiven by God]...

...why did Jesus die for our sins, when it didn't give us complete forgiveness in the long run? - i.e. we have to be remorseful for our sins as well.

We have all these theories and pictures in our head of spirits and ghosts that come from all over. We have the picture of a sheet with two eye holes, from Halloween, we have human like, floating, pale people, from Harry Potter, we have stitched skin, rotting skin, peeling, and blood from the image off zombies...but....are one of those true? What does a spirit look like? Do they even have a shape or form? Or are they just energy?

This is from Luke 17:21, when Jesus was talking to Pharasees (hypocrits and skeptics). Some folks say the translation should be "..God is among you" or "...God is in the midst of you." Regardless, God is either internal to sinners or in the presense of sinners.

If this be true, why are some self-professed Christians so quick to disassociate themselves from sinners and to condemn them as Godless? Why do they condemn others as destined for Hell, when Jesus did not appear to do so? Jesus spent time in dialogue with sinners and apparently asked them to examine their own hearts for the meaning of God.

I am not trying to cast aspersions or accusations here; I am just trying to find out how others on R&S interpret this passage.

In John 14:28 , Jesus pbh said "The Father is greater than I" By stating that the "Father" is greater than himself, Jesus distinguished himself from God.
Also in John 20:17 Jesus Christ pbh told Mary magdalene to tell his folowers: "I ascend unto my Father and your Father; and to my God and your God." Jesus' reference to God as "my Father and your Father" further emphasizes the distinction between himself and God. Furthermore, by referring to God as "his God", he left no room for anyone to intelligently claim that he was God.

Even in some of the writings of paul, which the Church has taken to be sacred, Jesus is referred to as a "man", distinct and different from God.
In 1st Timothy, 2:5, Paul writes
"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

Why dont the Christian brothers read their own bible and conclude that there is only ONE GOD. and Jesus Christ pbh is not GOD.

It is like they are some kind of scientists and know the name and species of each demon and know there gram molecular weight, their molality, and molarity as if it was some kind of chemical biologic science or something!

Say you're a Atheist. Or a Muslim. Christian. Or whatever religion.
You've got kids that you've raised in your own religion. One day, they come home to tell you the've looked into another religion, and decided to follow it.

Would you allow them to follow their choice religion or would you try to stop them from their beliefs?

This question isn't out of personal experience by the way. I'm just curious.

Was considering how much our thoughts and what we entertain there can have a real impact upon us.
Ever considered that Eve was corrupted in her mind even before she bit into the fruit of the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil?
These thoughts.. sometimes coming in the form of doubt, questions, lies, attacks, deceit are like the flaming darts as seen in Eph 6:16

"Besides all these, having taken up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming darts of the evil one."

My question concerns vs 17 and 18
And RECEIVE the Helmet of Salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which Spirit is the word of God

By means of all prayer and petition, praying at every timein spirit and watching unto this in all preseverance and petition concerning all the saints.

How guarded is our mind from the evil one? Are we inflitrated and sent spiraling? How crucial is the receiving of this helmet to us daily to guard our hearts and thoughts?
Plz share!
In Christ
