I was reading my Bible and like I do every day and found a passage that said:

"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it, and it will be yours"
-Mark 11:22, 24

I decided to pray for a better paycheck and a new car, my old car is really old. I prayed for these things like 15 minutes ago and they still aren't here. I even asked God for a speedy delivery. What should I do, I know the Bible is the word of God and therefore everything is true, so it must be something on my end right? Please answer quickly, I'm going to the movies in a few minutes and want to show off my new wheels, so please help, its an emergency.

First there was supposed to be Adam and Eve, right?

And everybody had sex with each other to start the human race, right?

And then all the inbreds got down and dirty and wicked and God got pissed off and ordered a flood, right?

So the world was flooded and everybody who was naughty and couldn't hold their breath for 40 days and nights, croaked, right?

And the only survivors were Noah and his crew, right?

So, if that's the story ... then we are descendants of NOAH!

Right?

if it is true, what kind of god do these Bible-fundamentalists have, doesn't their ever get satisfied? I thought to believe in Jesus Christ as one's Lord and Savior is enough to be saved, why are Catholics an exception when Catholics believe in the Divinity of Jesus Christ as well?

Mt 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. {JESUS: that is, Saviour, Heb}
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. {they...: or, his name shall be called}
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
Ro 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
(KJV)

I understand how you see praying to saints and I am not condemning you. However I was reading an answer earlier and it made me think. In Ecclesiastes we are told the dead have no more portion in anything done under the sun. If they heard your request for prayer and interceded with Jesus for you wouldn't they be playing a role in what happens on Earth?

Ecc 9:6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

Please stick to this verse and interpretations of it. I really am not asking for a history of praying to saints not 10 million verses about it. I just want an opinion on this verse and praying to saints.

As someone said "wisedom is gained in classrooms and with ministers not in a warzone" but I disagree. I think that in real life with all opinion is where you gain wisedom, a "warzone".That way you learn by yourself and in my opinion that wisedom is much better than having someone tell you everything and to never see ther other sides of the argument. All I think is that I need a bible and to be saved as far as being a christian goes, but I do occasionaly go to church. What do you think?

I was just wondering, since Jesus said that the sole reason God created women in the first place was to provide company and service to men (1 Corinthians 11:9), God determined that men would be lonely living alone, so he created women purely to keep men company and serve their needs (Genesis 2:18-22). I suppose this means that women are therefore completely subordinate to men (1 Corinthians 11:3). It stands to reason, though, that once men enter the Heaven, they will be one with God, and will no longer be lonely and in need of mortal companionship. So does this mean that women don’t have souls? Also, where do they go when they die?

I'm talking print media here, specifically media interviews. It often seems that the 'subject' being interviewed is selectively quoted/ misquoted to suit the particular agenda the (allegedly impartial) journo is running. I speak from personal experience here - I was interviewed for my local newspaper recently and the article that came out was complete crap! For example, it said that I had 'started playing piano to escape her sad childhood'....what I actually said was, 'I didn't have a great time when I was younger, but I think everyone has those sorts of periods in their life' and this was in a response to a question posed by the journo herself!
I may be going on to much about this, but people need to relise that what you read in a media interview is only one-sided - so much gets lost in translation, and words are often taken out of context just like mine were. Thoughts anyone?

I told my mom that the movie The Golden Compass looks like a good movie and she freaked out on me. She started going on about how only "devil worshipers" would go see that and how its VERY Anti-Christ. So I asked her what about it was Anti-Christ and she was just like Uh Well its not important (She just goes along with what everyone tells her; she lets people shove their beliefs down her throat; I dont think she has the ability to think for herself; all she does is follow the crowd and when I was to be my own individual person she freaks out, but thats beside the point.

I want someone to explain to me what about this move is Anti-Christ

If you read from my previous question, you'll know my dad's christian and my mum's muslim. I hate it how my dad is ALWAYS insulting muslims and islam. Out of the blue. And he's so racist about it sometimes. I don't support any of them on religion but i can see my dad's being so rude about it. Even if a certain topic has nothing to do religion he'll just start linking it to islam and start saying all that ****. I feel sorry for my mum. She's not exactly fond of christians but at least she isn't rude about it or insult it. It's so unfair sometimes. I feel like saying something but he's pretty hot tempered so yeah. He knows i dont have a thing for religions and he told me not to discriminate religions or those who has religions..etc.. and he said All religions, but there he is always insulting islam. and i mean ALWAYS.During the time when we were talking about religion, or to me, to my sis, and ESPECIALLY to my mother. Ergh, so what do i DOOOOOo.

So I work at Circuit City and have to be there at 4 am for Black Friday. I'm planning on leaving my house at 3:15 just in case there is traffic that early, cause people are crazy. So I'm going to take a shower at 2 and get dressed. And I know if I try to go to sleep, I'm either not going to wake up when I need to or it's going to make me more tired. If I laid down now, I'd only get 3 hours and that's if I fell asleep instantly. And that doesn't look like it's going to happen heh. So, I'm yawning a lot...coffee doesn't wake me up, just makes me have to pee a lot. What can I do to stay awake?

Is heaven a selfish desire?

Remember Paris Hilton, queen of raunchy sin? Remember when she found Jesus?

Have you noticed that, since then, she hasn't sinned at all?

Put that in your atheist pipe and smoke it!

(By the way, this also proves the liberal bias in our media. They've started to ignore her because they don't want us to see just how godly she's become.)
