How is one to enjoy heaven while there are others suffering eternal torment in hell?

If you go to heaven and your mother goes to hell, will it really be heaven?

Is heaven a guilty pleasure?

Is heaven a selfish desire?

Regardless of whether or not hell is a place of eternal torment or merely a place ‘without god’, the question still remains.

Would you be happy in heaven if your fellow humans were not there? Could you enjoy it even though you are aware that others have not made it through the pearly gates?

Obviously some people will not enter heaven. Hell is the necessary antithesis of heaven. However, is it really heaven if others are still suffering, even if that suffering is simply the void or existence 'without god'?

No need to worry...they're both imaginary.

Heaven isn't like a health resort or a spa where you're enjoying yourself while other people are left out in the cold. There will be no guilt, no sorrow, and no sadness there. That much we have been promised, and I trust God to keep His word on that. I don't necessarily know exactly how it will be done, but I don't have to understand everything in order to believe Him when He says something. It isn't a selfish desire, unless you're thinking of it in the wrong way. We're told to desire God, to long for Him the way a deer pants after water, and the end result of that longing is Heaven. To desire Heaven, without God, is the most foolish thing a human being can imagine.

Dear Mammon, believe it or not heaven and hell are spoken by God in the holy Qur'an.Heaven is a pleasant and peaceful place for all good humans who have no sin or their sins have beeen forgiven by God.The happy place where what everything we want will be served by young and beautiful fairies freely .It is logic that good humans should be rewar ded and bad humans should be punished in hell together with satans or iblises or bad jinns.Bad humans did many disobeyances of the God's instructions and God's prohibitions as stated in the Qur'an as the life guide for all humans. On this earth there are no fair and objective judgement. Many mistakes of a person maybe he/she was not punished because he/she did it without other knew it.(was not caught red handed). On this earth tey were manu corruptions, collusions and nepotism which were not known.
heaven is not a guilty pleasure and not a selfish desire.Muhammad pbuh said that most women will enter hell.So it can be occured his son go to heaven but his mother go to hell. because she had many bad doings.Every person will be responsibled for her/his own deeds and will be judged in the God's final court on the resurrection day..

The Bible nowhere declares that the incorrigibly wicked will live for eternity in either torment of absence of God. It DOES, however, declare, several times, that those who will not change from living ungodly lives will be utterly destroyed -- they will be as though they never had existed (Matthew 10:28).

Since everyone is related to someone, no matter who those people are, they will have relatives living godly lives in eternity. The question really is, can eternity be happy for anybody if there are wicked people alive to mess it up for everybody as they do at this time in this world?

Good questions.

1) That is why committed Christians share the gospel with others (so as to minimize the likelihood of people going to hell).

2) That would be difficult to take, if my mom goes to hell. But I know that wont happen.

3) Heaven is not a guilty pleasure.

4) Heaven is not a selfish desire.

Cordially,

Only a very select few go to heaven, I won't be going there. Faithful mankind's hope is for eternal life on a paradise earth. Hell is just the common grave of mankind and will be permanately done away with when death is no more. Those who don't gain everlasting life will no longer exist. No eternal pain. The eternal punishment is non-existence. I feel pity for you haters that just can't believe that a fiery tormenting Hell does not exist for those people you want to go there.

No one suffers torment in "hell". Your concept of God's Truth is convoluted at best.....Here is some literature that explains in full the Truth of God concerning heaven and hell.......http://www.ucg.org/booklets/HL/

That is why it is written that He will wipe all the tears from our eyes.

Rev 21:3-4
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
(KJV)

People say it all the time, "No one will cry in Heaven". But the Bible teaches otherwise.

Because we will have the perfect understanding.

Mother could always choose heaven too. I would not choose hell to be with my mom in eternity.

Heaven is the perfect place our hearts desire.

No, it is very intelligent choice considering the other alternative.

I'm sick of the attitude that only certain people go to Heaven. Everyone has good and bad in them. I'm in Heaven when I eat chocolate.

The bible says we will not have the same relationships in heaven that we had on earth. This means, in heaven, your spouse will no longer be your spouse, your mom will no longer be your mom, your sisters, brothers, your dog, they will no longer be your sisters, brothers and dog in heaven. Everyone will be on equal footing, and that is how you will know everyone with you. (You will no longer even know the people who go to hell. It will be like you never even met them. No harm, no foul. They won't even exist to you in heaven. No one in heaven will know anyone in hell, because earthly relationships will all be dissolved, and you will only know the people with you in heaven, and you will be on equal footing with them all.)
