Yes, he will have a religious background, quote scripture with ease, the Bible and the Qu'ran, have a charismatic personality, have a high degree of intelligence, possess charm and good looks and yes, people will worship him.
He will have the answers to the world's problems and will rapidly assume the position of unquestioned world leader.
Both the Christians and the Muslims are looking for this individual, but each group has a different name and agenda for him. But in either case, when he arrives, there will be bloodshed never before seen in the history of our planet.
I'm not trying to scare or convert anyone, I'm merely repeating Bible prophecy mentioned from the book of Daniel to the book of Revelation.

It's logical, yes. But for the record, the Pope is not the Antichrist. Luther was wrong.
This does not compromise my position as a Confessional Lutheran. Eschatology is by its nature a speculative discipline. If the Book of Concord is a faithful exposition of the scriptures, it does not follow that every speculative conclusion about a particular person's role in prophetic fulfillment will be correct--only that it is based on a sound understanding of scriptural principles.

Do You really want to know what I think ?
I believes as does Paul the apostle; all who preaches Christ without the "fruits and demonstration of Power" are anti-Christ.
They are leading people away from TRUTH with truth(fact which is true - the word as dead letter which kills)
These will probably summed up all of today Christianity or Churchianity. "Only having a form of Godliness but denying the Power thereof" - say the apostle Paul
In modern language, "Your tradition (tradition of men) have made the Word of God to no effect" says the Lord.
BUT , not to worry , God is raising a new Generation of Believers that are going to take over the Earth ; reigning as Kings and Priests of the Most High God.
Are you in this company?
One will know if he/she is
The Holy Spirit witness and the believer himself knows it! Do you?

According to Jesus statement in Matthew 24, the lie will be so close to the truth that it would deceive even the elect if it were possible. In 2 Thessalonians Paul says that the man of sin will sit in the temple as though he is God. In Revelation 13 John speaks of the two-horned beast with a lamb-like appearance who creates the image to the first beast and causes people to worship the image and receive the mark....in Revelation 19:20 he also call this same beast the false prophet.
People are looking for one person from europe to rise up and take control and not paying attention to what is happening right in front of them. Even worse, they are actually supporting an anti-christ march that is forcing governments to bow down to the image of democracy and apostate christianity that we have created.
That democracy is made in the image of Rome, and, just as Constantine declared religious freedom for Rome then proceeded to corrupt Christianity with pagan rituals, we have religious freedom and Christianity is being transformed by the condoning of sexual sin including homosexuality though not limited to just homosexuality. More and more so-called christians are joining in the worship of money and engaging in insane types of covetousness and idolatry.
I believe that Constantine is the image of the anti-christ. He declared Christianity to be Rome's official religion, but his incorporation of pagan festivals into Christian worship and his brutal persecution of non-conformist Christians, pagans, and Jews proves that what Rome practiced was anything but Christianity. Rome denied believers acces to the scriptures and forced them to accept her decrees as gospel. Thank God for the reformation.
BTW, Sunday is constantine's sabbath not God's. December 25th was the birthdate of pagan gods during the winter solstice long before Jesus walked the earth. Easter is the festival for the goddess of fertility many called Ishtar, hence the eggs and bunnies.
Denounce Rome and her holy days and denounce the march to force our way of life on the rest of the world. You can't stop the inevitable, but you can stand against it and fight the good fight of faith. If enough people stand against this maybe we can turn this nation aside and leave the anti-christ prophecies for others to fulfill.

I believe this is someone who will be for a "one world religion" The "False Prophet" (which will have powers, such as the Antichrist) will cause those who will be deceived to worship the Antichrist. He will set himself up in the Holy Place (Temple) and demand worship as if he is God.
The Bible speaks of antichrists(anyone who is opposed to Christ), and also of "THE Antichrist" which is yet to come. Read Revelation. The Antichrist will be possessed by satan himself.

I don't blame you, it can get confusing, think how much it would be for other religions, your community considers pagans, or non believers.
As far as I understand it, we all came from god. That would include the Anti-Christ right? He was not made out of anything but came from god as the good book says. There fore I think the lord has had enough of sins of men, it is getting to be burden, to same innocents, so he will do it all of again. But he needs to get rid of us first. And since we are all (Good or bad) his children, does it not make sense that he would out of the same religious background. You must have read, where it says "beware of the false prophets ", they are the disciples of Evil. Remember":
the true nature of religion in world history has consistently tried to act as a check to the powers of this world, reminding them of their duties to mankind and trying to enforce those duties when it could. The worst periods of violence in human history were made possible by the utter elimination of this religious power, the only power that strives to act in the name of something higher than itself, the only power that truly believes (and has a basis for believing) that we, as humans, have distinct and undeniable dignity and rights that flow from an Absolute Source.

Antichrist
Definition: Antichrist means against or instead of Christ. The term applies to all who deny what the Bible says about Jesus Christ, all who oppose his Kingdom, and all who mistreat his followers. It also includes individuals, organizations, and nations that falsely claim to represent Christ or that improperly ascribe to themselves the role of Messiah.
Does the Bible refer to only one antichrist?
1 John 2:18: “Young children, it is the last hour, and, just as you have heard that antichrist is coming, even now there have come to be many antichrists; from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour.”
2 John 7: “Many deceivers have gone forth into the world, persons not confessing Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.” (Notice that the “many antichrists” of 1 John 2:18 are here referred to collectively as “the antichrist.”)
Is the coming of the antichrist reserved for some future time?
1 John 4:3: “Every inspired expression that does not confess Jesus does not originate with God. Furthermore, this is the antichrist’s inspired expression which you have heard was coming, and now it is already in the world.” (That was written near the end of the first century C.E.)
1 John 2:18: “Even now there have come to be many antichrists; from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour.” (By “last hour” John evidently meant the end of the apostolic period. The other apostles had died, and John himself was very old.)
Some of those identified as antichrist—
Persons who deny that Jesus is truly the Messiah
1 John 2:22: “Who is the liar if it is not the one that denies that Jesus is the Christ [or, Messiah, anointed one]? This is the antichrist.”
All who deny that Jesus is the unique Son of God
1 John 2:22: “This is the antichrist, the one that denies the Father and the Son.”
Compare John 10:36; Luke 9:35.
Apostates
1 John 2:18, 19: “There have come to be many antichrists . . . They went out from us, but they were not of our sort.”
Those who oppose Christ’s true followers
John 15:20, 21: “If they have persecuted me, they will persecute you also . . . But they will do all these things against you on account of my name.”
Individuals and nations that oppose Christ as King or that themselves falsely claim the Messianic role
Ps. 2:2: “The kings of earth take their stand and high officials themselves have massed together as one against Jehovah and against his anointed one [Christ, or Messiah].”
See also Revelation 17:3, 12-14; 19:11-21.
Matt. 24:24: “False Christs and false prophets will arise and will give great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones.”

Very possible.
A nominal Christian is not a True Christian (per Jesus' definition of Christian).
The logic above is not quite right however. Many Atheists and Agnostics do oppose God and Theists today.
Cordially,
John

The Anti-Christ will appear as a man of peace. He will set up his kingdom on earth which will have both a one world government and a one world religion. I have often pondered which religion that might be but am absolutely sure it will not be Christian. I lean more toward Satanism...not that he will call it that...but that it makes each person the god of their own lives....the mark will come as a computer chip that will have all of your data on it that the government will issue to make everything easier and for your so-called protection. Remember, satan is a deciever and would have decieved even the very ellect if it were possible.

Yes,he will be real religious,but he won't be a
Christian.I will venture to say he will be Jewish, because according to scripture,he will
set in the temple claiming to be Jesus Christ.Remember the Jews don't believe Jesus
Christ ever came to earth. So a Jew claiming to be Jesus Christ(being Jewish himself)would fit right in, deceiving them as the real Messiah.
That is why we pray for the Jewish people to
be saved now by God's grace.
