What does the Bible mean when its says the stars shall fall to earth in Matthew 24, Mark 13?

Mark 13, verses 24 and 25 are talking about the time just after the tribulation and right before Jesus returns with His army of Saints to make war with the Antichrist and his followers and defeat them. With the tribulation there will be many signs that the end is near and some of those include earthquakes and storms like have never been seen before. These 2 verses are simply saying that immediately before Jesus returns to earth there will be great astronomical disturbances.
