The 144,000 are a Representative of those going to heaven. It is not an exact figure.

Yes. In Revelations, a definite number is shown by using it repeatedly. Ch.7:4 and 14:1 shows them to be 144,000 of former humans resurrected into spirit creatures for the purpose of being kings and priests with Jesus during his 1,000 year reign.

Most religious people find it convenient to not look at why they are there in heaven. Neither do they look further down in ch. 7 to verses 9, 10. This is where it speaks of a great crowd which no man was able to number who come out of the great tribulation. These are humans who stay on the earth, before the throne, not beside or on it. As Psalms 37:9-11 shows they will reside forever on earth in an abundance of peace.

Here are the very words in the Bible regarding the 144,000:

" 'Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.' And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed" (Revelation 7:3-4).

Those who were sealed were faithful Jews. They were sealed so the wrath of God would not come upon them in the end times. Now how many people go to heaven? Here is exactly what the Bible says,

"After these things I looked, and behold, A GREAT MULTITUDE, WHICH NO MAN COULD NUMBER, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, 'Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!' " (Rev. 7:9-10).

How many make it to heaven?

As has been said before, the short answer is: No, it's not true. The 144,000 are taken from the twelve tribes of Israel, who have repented of their sins and put their faith in Christ, and have been chosen to go out and evangelize the world during the period of the tribulation. These are the sealed children of Israel. The Jehovah's Witnesses like to point to the 144,000 in Chapter 14 as the only ones who are present with Christ in heaven, which is erroneous.

Based on what the Bible teaches, yes.

After Jesus was speaking of the Heavenly Kingdom, he stated this.

Mat 22:14
For many are called, but few [are] chosen.

Jesus was speaking of those selected to goto Heaven, and he stated that there will only be a few.

What about the others? Jesus said that only those who are Born Again will be in Heaven...

John 3:3
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Knowing that many Bible characters we're not Born Again, they will not get a chance to see Heaven. That being said, Jesus and the Bible makes it clear for those who are not Born Again.

Psalms 37:9
For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

Psalms 37:11
But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

Matthew 5:5
Blessed [are] the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

So if everyone was going to Heaven, then these verses will have no meaning.

People argue that the 144,000 are from tribes, but the fact is, some of those tribes names weren't actual tribes. They are speaking of Spiritual Israel, not literal.

Hello,

No, they are not the only people to enter the kingdom. The Bible is clear there will be a multitude of people but not compared to the earths population.

Revelation 7 9After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

Revelation 7: 4And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

We see the word sealed in this group which usually means “sealed by the Holy Spirit”

Next: this scripture speak to whom ever is keeping Satan from taking his place…what we know is that in Christains dwells the Holy Spirit…this is important to note because if the Holy Spirit is taken out of the way…so should the believer…

2 Thessalonians 2 3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work:

only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

…>> only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. I believe this is the Holy Spirit…the comforter that the Lord left with us.

In Revelations Jesus disappears after chapter 8 and reappears in chapter 14. He opens the 7th seal and he doesn’t appear again until he is seen with the 144 thousand.

Revelation 14 1And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.

Revelation 14:4
These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

These are those who have not been defiled in the “spiritual” way by the “women” or church religion. I believe they will be preaching the gospels!

God bless you,

Faith

No, that's not even remotely true. That comment came from the Jehovah's False Witnesses.

"And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;" Revelation 5:11

This verse tells how many people are going to heaven.

The 144,000 that the JW claim are going to heaven are actually Jews that Jesus Himself pick to be His witness, that have repented to Him, on earth in the near future when He comes back to earth--not when He calls the 100,000,000 plus into the air with Him.

The 144 is a reference to the direct descendants of the twelve tribes of Israel from the time of Jesus until the end of the age. This number does not include all the Gentiles or general believers grafted into the olive tree. Trust that there are certainly more than 144 going to paradise.

Revelation 7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

Twelve thousand from each of the twelve tribes of Israel are going to be chosen during the tribulation to be God's witnesses to the world.

This happens after the age of grace we are in now ends.

This also has nothing at all to do with who is or how many are saved now.

Read the passage and you'll see that interpretation (which is a Jehovah's Witness interpretation) is impossible. It states that there will be 144,000 specially protected JEWISH CHRISTIANS singled out as a group during the Great Tribulation who will evangelize throughout the world. That's all.

So, who are those mentioned at Revelation 14:1?
"The Lamb standing upon Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand having his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads."
What about Revelation 7:4? Who are they according to you?

Heaven isn't for everybody. Revelation 7:9, however, mentions a "great crowd, which no man was able to number." These are those described in Psalms 37 who find favor in God's eyes.

Think about it this way. When God created man, where did He place him? In heaven? No....He created man for earth and earth for man. Man was supposed to dwell forever on earth and never die. Our Creator's purpose has not changed. God never changes His plans. This "great crowd" will reside on earth forever. :)
