I'm a Christian but I was wondering what the main differences between Christianity and Catholicism were. I know that they put more emphasis on the saints and Mary but what else? I'm confused....

okay firstly im a christian, and yesterday i was hanging out with my friends, my friends and we're making jokes to each other and jokingly saying "go f*ck this, go f*ck that", etc...we were passing by a catholic church and there was a sorta cemetery there too, and after she said "go f*ck the pole" and suddenly slipped out "go f*ck some dead people", i didnt even realize until a couple of seconds that i said something that horrible...i just feel soooo terrible that i said that cuz i didnt really mean it, it just slipped out accidently and when i came home i asked God for my forgiveness like 5 times, i think....i just still feel bad, and i wished i'd never said that

she was offended by the religion-neutral statement "Happy Holidays," instead of "Merry Christmas." She said that it was an attempt to be polite, but it offended her because she felt that it somehow denied the spirit of the season, and subverted the Christian, pro-Christmas sentiment shared by the majority of Americans.

My question is, does anyone here agree with her? How could you possibly take offense to "Happy Holidays?" Don't you think people are right to say "Happy Holidays," if they don't know what religion someone subscribes to? What if she'd been Jewish or a Muslim?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not offended when someone says, "Merry Christmas," and I wouldn't try to prevent people from saying it. However, I fail to see what's so bad about saying "Happy Holidays."

I have had experiences. How many of you have had similar experiences?I am not proud of having those experiences but feel that it is important for us to realise that there are many mystic things that are happening today that science cannot explain.

God observes us this way. I want to be just like that, but it is the most diffiuclt task I have ever attempted because it requires a constant awareness of every thought, word, and action I take. What is your secret? I want to mix it up with my attempts then maybe I can get to the point where I see things like father sees them.

...every time someone points out a contradiction or stupidity in the [insert holy book], that person is taking it out of context; yet when a person who follows the religion of the [insert holy book] takes a single verse of how great his/her god is, he/she is speaking the truth and it's not out of context?

I believe that we are more similiar than we really believe. I am a Christian and if I am correct we all worship the same God but believe in different prophets and other differences? It's not like we hate eachother but it does seem that their is a bit of "rivalry" (for lack of a better word) between us. My belief is that although many of us believe in different situations God will accepts us all in the fact that we do worship him but not in the same way or shape as he would like us to. What's your take on this?

I have read up on a lot of religions, but I was wondering if there was a certain religion for what I believe.(Please don't bash my beliefs).

I believe in reincarnation. I also have a close and strong connection with nature. I think that in each person's life, they were meant to learn a lesson. Once they die, they go to a place where they can relax and recover from their last life, and/or move on to their next one. If they didn't fully get the lesson from the previous life, they have to do it again until they do. (A lesson as in: Greed, love, loss etc..) Once they learn all the lessons, they are free to either live lives if they choose, or..."hang out" in the place they go to after death. I also believe there are soulmates for every person. But in each life, your soulmates may be a different person ex. may be your lover, then your brother, your friend, etc. They can change all the time. Anyone know what religion I may be? Thank you!

A Warning to Rejecters

Deuteronomy 18:19 “And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require [it] of him.” (in some translations: “I will be the Revenger”).

This is not to be rude but there are some ladies who have been coming to my house for a few weeks now every couple of days to give me new readings about religious views and although I believe I do not know how to tell them I don't want to join their church and to stop coming by. Please advise :-)

When I was little, I would go to the church with my mom. When I was around 8, I stopped going to the church, and I wouldn't even care about it. I am now 18, and I jave thought about giving up my religion before, because I thought it was stupid. Lately, I've started praying, and believing in it again. Is that weird...?

So Adam and Eve eat fruits from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Is this sinful because God told them not to do it or is it sinful to know good and evil? And for what reason would God forbid them to to eat from such a tree?

What does it mean to "know" good and evil. Why would the knowledge of good and evil be "sinful"?

I know it says that its wrong for a man to lay with a man as one lies woman. However, when two women make out its different right? I like to cuddle with girls and kiss them, but I think male homosexuality is gross like the Bible says. As long as I don't dress like a man I am not sinning right? Serious answers please!!
