He didn't, but we celebrate His birthday then, God gave us the best gift ever, JESUS, we are very blessed to receive Him, He is and always will be, the best gift mankind could receive
.
Man decides if he celebrates Christ's birthday, or just goes along with the idea of santa and loads of gifts, a lot of us forget to bring God into Christmas, you only have to look in the malls, you will be hard put to find a Nativity scene anywhere, shame on us.

Jesus didn't so don't get caught up in the commercialism of Christmas.
I think Jesus said, "Is better to give then receive." I don't think he meant materialistically but spiritually and emotionally.

Jesus told us not to observe one day above another....all our days are to be in service to the Lord....I think it is fine in the spirit of the season to give gifts to those you love,,to the homeless,,,but you should be doing that all year,,,not just at Christmas....

We're really paring down, and our church has joined with, at last count, 1000 churches to do a less materialistic Christmas and provide water for third world communities. Links below.
I'm asking my husband to get me a goat for Christmas -- not really for *me,* but for someone in Africa.

well the holiday christmas has changed much, it used to be about friends and family getting together to celebrtate christs birthday
but than it just got to the point where friends and families got together to be together, and what better way of being together than to buy a presant so that ppl would apreciate them more

I didn't look up your website suggestion. But we get our example from the Magi who presented gifts to Jesus.
