An engineering professor is treating her husband, a loan officer, to dinner for finally giving in to her pleas to shave off the scraggly beard he grew on vacation. His favorite restaurant is a casual place where they both feel comfortable in slacks and cotton/polyester-blend golf shirts. But, as always, she wears the gold and pearl pendant he gave her the day her divorce decree was final. They're laughing over their menus because they know he always ends up diving into a giant plate of ribs but she won't be talked into anything more fattening than shrimp.
Quiz: How many biblical prohibitions are they violating? Well, wives are supposed to be 'submissive' to their husbands (I Peter 3:1). And all women are forbidden to teach men (I Timothy 2:12), wear gold or pearls (I Timothy 2:9) or dress in clothing that 'pertains to a man' (Deuteronomy 22:5). Shellfish and pork are definitely out (Leviticus 11:7, 10) as are usury (Deuteronomy 23:19), shaving (Leviticus 19:27) and clothes of more than one fabric (Leviticus 19:19). And since the Bible rarely recognizes divorce, they're committing adultery, which carries the rather harsh penalty of death by stoning (Deuteronomy 22:22).
So why are they having such a good time? Probably because they wouldn't think of worrying about rules that seem absurd, anachronistic or - at best - unrealistic. Yet this same modern-day couple could easily be among the millions of Americans who never hesitate to lean on the Bible to justify their own anti-gay attitudes.

That's gotta hurt. You've been speaking out against male homosexuality only to find that you're just as guilty according to the Bible. Do you think it's just possible that the Bible is wrong? If you like fooling around with girls, do it. Just try not to be so judgmental of guys who like guys.

Technically speaking, yes. (At least in the old testament. I'm unsure if the passage in the NT condemns only sodomy or homosexuality) However, there are a lot of passages in the Bible that only specifically address men even though its assumed today to apply to women as well. For example, it's a sin to sleep with your mother but not with your son. That's because the texts were written primarily with the men in mind due to the patriarchal culture it developed in.

Hey there, I know where you are coming from. However, the book of (Romans 1:) condems homosexuality of any kind. Guy with guy, and girl on girl. I have to be honest, I wish it did not condemn girl on girl, but it certianly does. It is for a good reason. It will spare you trouble downthe road if you obey. I wish you look sis :)

That's a technicality so if you're looking at that to keep you out of hell, then it's not going to work.
But since gawd doesn't exist and the entire heaven/hell thing is a bribe to get you to be good then there's no issue.
And I agree with you that male homosexuality is gross but female homosexuality is a beautiful thing. ;)

Actually it specifically condemns Roman Homosexuality, which was between a Man and a Boy. In Ancient Rome and Man would never have sex with another Adult Man, that was Taboo. You've got to understand the cultures of the time to understand what was being talked about. Language is an imperfect Tool. (manmade)

Paul calls it 'dishonorable passions' in Romans:
Romans 1: 26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.
So, no, the Bible has something to say about women being with women as well. But even if it didn't specifically address women, wouldn't it stand to reason that what the Bible says about male homosexuality would also apply to female homosexuality?

romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. here we see the answer to your question yes GOD says it is wrong even for a women to be with a women

um ... i'm pretty sure it condones all homosexuality, male and female, so no, you're not getting through any loopholes. however, the bible is wrong about homosexuality. it's perfectly all right. so you're doing fine, just remember there's nothing gross about gay men.
