You cannot be polite with them. Their fanatic religious zeal teaches them that, no matter what, they must try to convert everyone.
If you have already told them you wish they would stop coming around and you do not want their literature, then do what I do.... If I answer the door, and they are standing on my porch....I don't say a word. I simply shut the door and walk away.
There is no need for you to be polite because THEY aren't being polite. They are so self-righteous that they believe they have the right to come to your home, unannounced and uninvited, and try to pressure you into conversion. This is called RUDE.

I like the way you are trying to act. If you wish them to stop coming by you will have to be assertive and say. I have my own faith, and I appreciate you, but you must stop the visits. There is no other way. Well, you not answer the door and other things, but only your own politeness and assertiveness will do it.
If they are offended, you must go on. IF you are polite then you have nothing to worry about, it then falls on the ladies to do the polite and right thing and stay away.

The direct way is always the best way. Be polite and say something like "I think you for your time but it is unnecessary as I am happy with my own church." If they cannot take the hint then you just have to be a little more forceful and ask them politely not to come around any more as it is interfering with your daily routines.

They understood the Bible even as they examine it Hebrews 10:25 no longer abandoning the assembling of ourselves jointly, because the way of a few is; yet exhorting one yet another: and a lot the further, as ye see the day drawing close. James 5:19-20 Brethren, if any of you do err from the reality, and one convert him; enable him comprehend, that he which converteth the sinner from the mistake of his way shall keep a soul from lack of life, and shall conceal a mess of sins.

You could say just that in a nice, even tone. Tell them that you appreciate the opportunity but you would rather they not come by your home anymore. Let them know that you are not interested and smile as you close the door quietly.

Just say, "Thank you for taking the time to visit me but I am really not interested in joining your church and would appreciate it if you would stop visiting. Have a nice day." Then, quietly shut the door.

Tell them you don't want to join their church and to stop coming by. They are the ones who are being rude to you by wasting your time.

I'm afraid that sometimes politeness doesn't do the job. You have to get the courage to speak openly to their face. That's the only language they will understand (IF you are lucky). Be ready to tell them SEVERAL times.
You can also simply not answer your door. There's no law that says you have to, after all.
Ultimately, nobody can take advantage of you without your permission.

Tell them very politely that you're not interested in what they have to sell and then close the door on them.
Or do what my Dad does, tell them you're Jewish and they'll never come back.

"hi, i really appreciate your thoughtfulness to come by my home and give me some insight into your views". "however, i am a member of a Church that i treasure, so i won't be joining any other churches". "thanks and have a great day".
we had some jehovahs witnesses who kept coming by relentlessly, bless their hearts, and my nephew says "oh, i worship satan". of course me and his mother almost fell over and it didn't help. the JW came IN and spent the next FOUR hours trying to save him. true story..LOL
