If No, and If you believe in God, then how can you not believe in Slavery? Aren't we all the servants of God, And God owns our souls and bodies? Doesn't God control our lifes ( OK skip this point if you want, yeah he gave us free will!) and our fates and destinies, afterall he will decide who goes to heaven and hell???!!! Isn't this as Slavery, and yeah don't we have to work for free for the God and don't wait anything in return????

In response to one of my questions I got this response "I do NOT question infallible councils. If I DID, then I would have to question the New Testament canon". I am not sure why someone would believe this. The NT canon was determined at the synods of hippo and carthage. Neither of which were ecumenical and thus neither of which had the charism of infallibility. So the NT canon was accepted for over a millenium with no need for claims of infallibility. The men at these synods never claimed infallibility and yet most accepted the canon they proposed. In fact the first time scripture was infallibly declared was at the council of trent in the 16th century. So why does rejecting the idea of infallibility have any bearing on accepting scripture? The only correlation I can see is if you do not believe God could preserve his Word through fallible man.

Since I've been here, I started having some preconceptions, because most christians I met on R&S were not exactly what I've known from my real life. In my real life I met so less people that were completely sure on their religion, that I could count them on the fingers of one hand. So now, I kinda have this image about christians: not willing to accept other views

How is it for you? Do you make an image of what a person is when he sais he's a christian?

If you study the bible at all you know that natural disasters was an effective way for God to get his message across. When God brought the flood in Noah's day I bet those people pooped themselves at God's righteous power. I can hardly wait for the next. Non believers repent now or face the consequence.

Christians pray and ask for change, for guidance, etc. Pagans and such cast spells seeking the same.

How exactly do they differ?

When everything they do contradicts this, they even have a repetetive prayer to Mary. My question to you Catholics is what stops you from praying to Jesus our savior and mediator ? (honest question) Be blessed

I am a former Catholic. I practiced for 27 years and decided that it no longer made sense to me but I digress. When you speak of Mary 'worship', do you ever listen to what a Catholic has to say? OK, here's a good way to put it: Are you praying to a dead friend or relative if you speak with them at night or at their grave? No. Good. We're together so far. When a Catholic speaks to Mary, they are doing the exact same thing.
If you believe in heaven then why wouldn't someone who's ascended to heaven be able to listen to you? To maybe get God's ear a little more? All of this sniping against the Catholics..... if you actually read answers, you'd probably understand where they're coming from. What if you didn't know they were Catholic but read the answer in a non-biased situation? It sounds as logical as anything else anyone believes. All thoughts welcome. Namaste!

Perhaps that such a question is impossible?

If you have such a question please post it in your answer then ask it.

It just seems that there are several of us here that are in a really good mood today, then when I click on the Religion & Spirituality section to get the latest onslaught of questions, they all seem so negative. So it got me to wondering if there is a question that could be asked that would bring "peace to the realm" (so to speak) for at least a little while.

Out of 1000's of people Jesus choose 12. Then, out of the 12 he choose 3 to see him in his Glory on the Mount of transfiguration. Why does he allow some to have greater experiences of himself than others? Is it because of our desire or his? Do we have greater experiences because he makes us his favorite or we make him our favorite?

Snowflakes are extremely complex, with intricrate and highly ordered patterns. They are all unique. And yet they occur naturally, and are undesigned.

Doesn't that negate the Argument From Design?

It's seems there's a lot of discussion on many of the sins we commit - murder, slander, adultery, etc. But can you list some sins of omission - things we don't do that we should?

OK... correct me if Im wrong, but in the Catholic church isnt the popes opinion supposed to be the same as the bible, an authority from God? Tell me then if God is the same God who has been around for all these years why one pope will change the churchs policy on something? God never changes and the fact the church changes is a blow to the authority of the pope wouldnt you agree?
