The TANAKH was written by Jews for the Jews.
The Tanakh consists of three parts, Torah, Prophets, Writings. It was written in Hebrew and Aramaic.
The Roman Catholic Church took the Tanakh, rearranged the books, added some more and did some deliberate misdirections and mistranslations in order to support their claim that Jesus was the messiah.
The Old Testament as you know it IS plagiarized corrupted and changed by Christians for Christians. Jews have nothing to do with it. They have their Tanakh.

The Old Testament was the first book of books in the bible. The New Testament was the second!
The teachings of the OT were leading up to the NT, when the prophecies about our coming Saviour would finally be realised!
The OT was a set of rules and laws to be followed at that time, but with a view to the changes that would take place when Jesus was born!
The sin offerings are one example of what was going to be changed. Every sin committed meant there had to be a sin offering, the first born perfect male animal being the expected ideal offering!
Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice that all the other sacrifices were leading up to!
He was the first born perfect male offspring of God! You can't get better than that!
That was God's way of saying we didn't need to continue with sin offerings, as Jesus had paid the price for all the sins of everyone that loved him, repented of their sins and turned away from their sins!
Another big change in the NT, is that the Word was to be preached to everyone, both Jews and Gentiles (non-Jews) alike!
Therefore, there isn't any plagiarising, corrupting or changing involved, just continuing!
I hope this helps!
God bless!

Jesus came as the fulfillment of the promises of God found throughout the OT. This is not a corruption of Judaism but the continuation of it. It was the rejection of Jesus by the Jews that brought about the birth of "Christianity." How are Christians plagiarizing the OT when we acknowledge what it is and where it came from? To plagiarize : to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own : use (another's production) without crediting the source(see source below) Christianity has never denied the OT as part of the Jewish faith and heritage.

Where do you get your information? Jesus the Christ, a Jew of the tribe of Judah taught from the Old Testament. His disciples, also Jews, taught from the Old Testament. That's all they had, and the OT foretold the birth of the Messiah, as well as many other things regarding His life.
For reasons brought out in the NT, some of the disciples and apostles went to the Gentiles, while most went to the Jews. Many Jews are also Christians.
We have the right because of Jesus, of who He is. Through Jesus Christ we are also the children of Abraham. Read the scriptures for support of this.

It is quite obvious, from the answers that christians don`t know the history of their religion.
A few of error:-
James the Just was the head of the messianic jewish cult which was copied and modified by Paul.
The romans went to great lengths to erradicate the messianic cult, There were a few survivors who became the coptics.
The new testament was written by gentiles not jews
A quick blood test will prove beyond doubt that most christians are not related to Abraham in any way.
The God of the old Testament says his word never changes, Therefore all the laws of the old testament still apply, the new testament says different and therefore cann`t be the word of God.
Paul wrote the Acts and was in fact in conflict with the jewish christians, and even opened a rival church next door to Peters church in Antioch.
The christians are all a part of the great decieption that John wrote about, and the silly roman christians in their ignorance added to the back of their new testament....!!

I think you would be more correct if you said the OT was written BY Jews.
Christians use the OT to understand the fulfilment demonstrated in the New Testament by Jesus. They don't corrupt the material. It is called exegesis.
Remember that the Apocrypha and Pseudopaligrapha were also studied as were the Maccabees.
Seek first the Kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you.

You are right but I fear many here just repeat automatically the same old phrases, mostly to do with how the NT 'completes' the Tanakh (OT)
They are all wrong. Judaism requires no 'completion'. And Jesus was never once mentioned in the OT; the 'references' to him specifically, all, and always rest on MISTRANSLATED HEBREW.
(asker: capitals directed at the other respondents, not you :))
Jesus died a practising Jew when the Romans murdered him. He never, ever suggested 'doing away with' Judaic law.
Where do people think he would go if he somehow returned? He'd go to synagogue!

The Christians have incorporated the OT into their Bibles as is. We have not changed it. Matter of fact, there is more manuscript texts for our present-day Bibles than for any other historical manuscripts - we have more manuscripts to compare our Bibles with than we do for Shakespeare! Our manuscripts are not corrupted. You have been misinformed.
You may go to the bookstore and pull out a modern version of the Bible, such as the NIV, and read the bottom margins. There, you'll see several alternate renderings of some passages. You'll see that the alternate renderings do not change the meaning of the passages at hand. You can see this for yourself. You don't need anyone to teach you.
So stop believing those who say the texts are hopelessly corrupted. It's just not true.

No, the OT is God's word for his people. What has been plagiarized, corrupted or changed about the OT? If you would like to be a little more specific about your question, you might get a more specific answer.

As much as the "jewish" people did...the OT was written by pre Hebrews just like the NT was written by the Jewish world at the time. Also the fact that these early proto Jewish writers had ommitted Yahwe and being a couple male and female is a sign of the kind of censorship that has gone on. Stange they ditched that and kept the murder. incest and rape in?
