great logic if your a freshman in college. Hey, while we're at it, let's change the meaning of some other words too. For instance, lets change the word "executive" to mean everyone who brings home a paycheck. I don't think it's fair that only actual executives get that title. I want it too, even-though I'm a plumber. Let's make "man" and "woman" interchangeable so that any gender can choose either. And then we'll constitutionally amend it. Yeah this changing the meaning of words to fit your gay lifestyle could be fun! yeah!

Markyyy! Good to see you again. I've asked this question while you were away, some of them seem to think it's their god given right to dictate the bedroom behavior of other people. I wonder how those people would feel if they were told that from now on, they couldn't marry anyone outside of their direct family, because that's how God originally populated the earth...who am I kidding, some of them would probably like that rule.

Well put! It all comes down to freedom of choice and respecting those that are different. I appreciate the diversity in society...others on the other hand tend to discriminate. It's sad. We should all embrace and accept that our gender choice doesn't HAVE to be another person's.

Inaction is a strong moral decision to make.

True morality requires living according to one's conscience, right or wrong, and not attempting to refrain from judgment.
When we're honest with ourselves, we understand that we make strong judgments every day. In the case of marriage, making a decision to make a decision is more worthy of respect than to refuse to commit oneself. Those who refuse to commit are either ignoring their own moral code, or, perhaps equally likely, not confidant enough in their own ability to judge things properly.

Because of the sanctity of marriage.

If I know that gay people can live happily ever-after, it would devalue my marriage. I'm not clear on whether Canada's gay marriage cheapens my marriage (if I had one), because the gay-marriage-kudies might cross the border.

But Massachusetts' gay-marriage-kudies definitely cross state lines. Hence the need for a Constitutional Amendment.

for this cause God gave them up unto vile affections for even their women did exchange the natural use for that which is
against nature and likewise also the men leaving the natural use of the womam burned in their lusts one toward another
, men with men working that which is unseemly and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was fitting
and even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge , God gave them over to a reprobate mind

That's the definition of a marriage - with the opposite sex. There is no such thing as a marriage between the same sex, that's the point.
