I listened to Christopher West's cd, Marriage and the Eucharist, and was extremely enlightened by it. I was wondering if there are any other sources such as this one, based on Pope John Paul II's Theology of the Body...or any other source that you might recommend that would break it down pretty nicely, whther it be a book, audio, dvd, homily, talk, etc? Thank you in advance, for your recommendations.

God Bless

If I live on a island and never here about god do I got to hell simply because where I happend to be born? I could live a rich full loving life, be a great person loving father husband. Help anyone in who needs it always do unto others. Follow the 10 commandments, sin then feel bad about as we are all human and not purposely continue that same sin. Or you could say he lived perfectly and never sinned, but never hear about god, does that doom him to hell? I have nothing to support this but I say no, he goes to heaven. Please document your answers if you claim they come from the bible. And by the way I dont want anything documented from anything but the REAL bible. No book of mormon or anything of that nature.

His name is Beppo. I'm not lying...Go to Exodus 10:1. So Christians if you think I'm just saying this to make fun of your religion, I'm not because I'm a Christian too. I first heard it on The Colbert Report and I thought he was lying but he's not, it's actually in the bible. Did you know that?

I'm dating a wonderful guy but we have a different perspectives on some spiritual things. we are both very religious and believe very strongly in our faith. the differences are something we can't get past do we still try and work through it or just give up?? ex of differences: i believe in music during worship, he doesn't. He also believes you have to be baptized to be saved...I believe in faith alone. any suggestion on how to approach the situation?

*iamnot asking to convert, im muslim myself and happy with that !, rather curious to know about other ppl's too and share knowledge :-)"

so, allow me to start :
about that in islam:

If anyone has a real desire to be a Muslim and has full conviction and strong belief that Islam is the true religion of God, then, all one needs to do is pronounce the “Shahada”, the testimony of faith, without further delay. The “Shahada” is the first and most important of the five pillars of Islam.

With the pronunciation of this testimony, or “Shahada”, with sincere belief and conviction, one enters the fold of Islam.

To convert to Islam and become a Muslim a person needs to pronounce the below testimony with conviction and understanding its meaning:

I testify “La ilah illa Allah, Muhammad rasoolu Allah.”

The translation of which is:

“I testify that there is no true god (deity) but God (Allah),

and that Muhammad is a Messenger (Prophet) of God.”

From there, One starts carrying on with the duties of Islam.

So today while I was meditating...

I was laying in a blanket under the sun and it started to rain. When the rain lifted I heard a wolf growling. It started to run at me, but for some reason I closed my eyes and stood still. A beam of light suddenly came from my body and the wolf stopped. It starred at me for what seemed to be hours. Next thing I know an indian man approaches me and tells me that I was once a part of him. He then says that my light can save many. I must find my light.

I am not Native American at all. I am a white girl whose family comes from Denmark, Sweeden, Germany, and France.

What would you make of this vision/dream?????

I have seen on here many times the quote by Ignatius where he mentions the catholic church. However is this church the Roman Catholic Church? I propose the answer is no. It means literally what he said, a universal church of all believers. He says where Jesus is the universal (catholic) church is there. However since this was over 200 years before the RCC came into existence how could he be referring to them?

"Let no one do anything of concern to the Church without the bishop. Let that be considered a valid Eucharist which is celebrated by the bishop or by one whom he ordains [i.e., a presbyter]. Wherever the bishop appears, let the people be there; just as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the universal Church" (Letter to the Smyrneans 8:2 [A.D. 110]).

(I took a small liberty with the above quote. In the original Ignatius says catholic. Catholic theologians do not tranlsate this word and capatilize it. Which it was not orignaly. Thus I changed it to universal which is its meaning)

"Some men are willing to die for their faith but will not fully live for it. Christ both lived and died for us. By walking in his steps and through his atonement we can gain the greatest gift of all--eternal life--which is that kind of life of the great Eternal One, our Father in heaven."
--Ezra Taft Benson, "Jesus Christ--Gifts and Expectations, Byu Devotional", 10 December 1974

I'm not sure if I REALLY, really am. I hope that as I grow older, I will grow wiser, and can one day say that I did fully live for my faith to the best of my abilities given the circumstances at the time. As of today, I can't say that I have mastered that aspect of life. I have a lot left to do, a lot left to learn, and a lot left to become.

What about you?
