Most fanatical Christians have a very short memory span, so by the time they start justifying their old point, they forgot what it was and go off on a new tangent. They think if they do it very quickly, nobody will notice.
Ann Coulter is another fine example of that.

I have no problem with meshing the things we have discovered through science and my faith. The Bible is a life skills and management guide, not a science book and I read it as such. I think the creation story is misunderstand. It is not intended to reveal the mechanism of creation but the underlying theme that God is responsible for all things. I do not care how He brought about the world so much as knowing He did. The things you have mentioned exist and cannot be denied. This is not an issue for me. I think it is an issue for others because they have a difficult time prioritizing and also, if someone before them claimed this is how we must understand this; then they have reached an impasse. I think science has actually helped me with this because from a scientific perspective theories and hypotheses can be changed if new ideas are able to better explain them. If you have not guessed, I am more of an intelligent designer type and the creation of the first cell is one of the things that I see as sincere evidence of 'there's something more going on here'. I deny nothing in creation because to me it all goes to the Glory and Power of God.

It's possible to be a thinking Christian. There is knowledge and logic, and then there is faith - they are very different things. Sometimes faith just doesn't make sense, but then again it is faith and not logic. You can have faith in God and a logical belief in science. There are those who have been blessed with such strong faith that they can see the Bible as the literal truth and that's all they need. That has never worked for me personally. I believe in empirical science, evolution, dinosaurs, and many other things that are not clear in the Bible. I have faith that the Bible is meant to direct us in a positive way for ourselves and for one another, and I have faith that Christ died for me and saved me. As for issues like creation, I just figure people explained things as best they could for the Bible and that God, being as smart and powerful as he is did something more like creating the physics of the universe and the rules of biology. That would sort of explain the "let there be light" as the the moment of creation which pretty nicely coincides with the big bang theory. Anyway, good luck with your searching.

The Bible is not a science book.
I can't stress that enough. The Bible also never mentioned cars, planes, cancer, iced tea, ice itself, Antarctica, Greenland, China, the North American continent, or the South American continent.
It doesn't mean anything.
Again, the Bible is not a science book. It is not a geography lesson. It does not include ALL history from the times in which it was written. It is not an overview of every religion.
The Bible is simply a book, written by forty different authors, over a course of more than 1500 years, from all different professions (kings to fishermen to doctors and historians to simple farmers), over three continents, in three different languages...it follows the same theme throughout. It's about God, and about the bridge He built to reach mankind.

Cavemen - modern, post-flood humans.
Dinosaurs - buried in the Flood.
Evolution - no scientific proof exists that a dog can either produce or come from a non-dog.
Gravity - scientifically proven - unlike evolution.
DNA and cells- proof of an extremely intelligent Creator.
Any more dumb questions?

Disagree. There are too many contradictions in the Bible to make it a useful data of something. with out observable, conclusive data as properly that e book, no longer something in it could reliably be pronounced to be real. i might desire to write a e book retaining myself to be the Queen of britain. It won't make it real, yet i might desire to write it conveniently. Evolution, on the different hand, as been observed "in action" between micro organism in labs. we are able to videotape it happening, hint it is historical past in DNA and the fossil checklist, and use it to foretell behaviors which we are able to then make specific. Now it is convincing data. Even the Pope has common evolution. notice: we did no longer evolve from apes, we proportion a uncomplicated ancestor with them. it is like the version between your 2d cousin and your father. One shares an ancestor with you (your grandparents) and the different is your ancestor. there's a reasonably great difference on your courting along with your 2d cousin and your father, isn't there? Apes are 2d cousins to us, they are no longer our mum and dad.

I acknowledge the bible for what it is, a collection of books put together in 400 AD.
The 5 books of Moses are the most important.
And those 5 books could quite well be metaphorical. The book of kings is literal. The other books are helpful examples of what to do and what not to do.

None of the things you named were known about when The Bible was written.
They are now.
