When will we as professing christians learn that we can't convert anybody through words of mans wisdom.

All of these questions and answers in an effort to change ones opinions, religion, beliefs, etc are in vain unless it is seasoned with AGAPE love and anointed by the HOLY SPIRIT.

I don't spiritually discern either one of these in this question.

This is an offensive question and not one out of love.

May God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ by HIS SPIRIT
convict us of our motives that are not CHRIST like.

We can not take the place of the HOLY SPIRIT.

There are many carnal christians who are arrogant as well as many atheist who are arrogant.

Arrogance is of the flesh and not of the spirit.

We should not insinuate that all atheist are arrogant, however they all are fools according to the HOLY SCRIPTURES

According to the scriptures:

Psa 14:1 [[To the chief Musician, [A Psalm] of David.]] The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, [there is] none that doeth good.

May God have mercy on the atheist while still breathing. Because I would not like to be in his/hers place when judgement comes.

Well that's a pretty arrogant assumption. Who says that atheists are smarter? That is a generalization, and a wrong one at that. That is the reason why some atheists are arrogant - because they think they are so darn smart.

Real Christians are suppose to follow in the steps of Christ. He was humble and meek..but make no mistake, He is not weak. Arrogance from a person shows that they have a prideful heart. This is not following in the footsteps of Christ but rather the footsteps of Lucifer...who was cast out of heaven because of his pride. Pride stinks in the nostrils of God. The bible says, "Pride comes before a fall, and a haughty spirit before destruction". This is truth for everyone, not just Christians.

Some of the Christians I know are already arrogant. I don't know that they are intelligent, but they are certainly closed-minded. All sorts of people can be intelligent. A lot depends upon what one does with that intelligence.

If they were as smart as atheists Christians would realise they have nothing to be arrogant about.

Err... who, other than atheists given to gross over-generalization, says they aren't?

And from what I can tell, aggressively evangelical Christians are, on the whole, just as arrogant as aggressively whats-the-atheist-equivalent- to-evangelical-anyways atheist.

(The remainder doesn't strike me as particularly arrogant either side of the trenches.)

Isn't claiming to know - absolutely *know* - the mind of an omnipotent being already pretty arrogant?

There are people from all belief systems that are arrogant, ignorant, intelligent, or impotent.

I love when atheists claim that atheists are smarter than any other group. Of course, they will all post the same link to some study found on the internet to show "evidence".

Kind of like teen girls saying, cheerleaders are SOOOOOO pretty...since I'm a cheerleader, I must be pretty.

Oh, and BTW...it is usually the cheerleader with low self esteem and/or not so hot of looks that states this false analogy. I think the same applies to the atheist=intelligent claim.

If atheists were as smart as Christians, wouldn't they become Christians, too??

I wasn't aware that intelligence was measured by perceived levels of arrogance. Perhaps I should spend more time in a library
