What exactly do you think will happen? The Mayan calendar is continuous. It predicts cataclysms between each major cycle but the last one happened thousands of years before Mayan culture existed and the "next" one will obviously occur hundreds of years after the Mayan civilization ended. So who is doing the predicting?
Certain other people are trying to harmonize and tack on other "prophecies" to match the date but that's just so they can sell books, talismans and survival supplies. Did you live through the Millenium? How was that for you? Survive okay? This is just the Mayan version of that.
EDIT: "Galaxy lining up?" With what? Are you talking about planetary conjunctions? Those happen every few years. There's no unusual alignment that year, and even if there were, only astro-physicists can calculate the difference. The moon has far more tidal influence than anything else around.

No.
Hundreds thought the Apocalypse was coming in 1886. It didn't. Thousands were convinced the world would end in 1975. It didn't. Millions believed that civilisation would draw to a close in 2000. It didn't.
2012 will come and go and we will still be here.

Don't be scared - the world is not going to end in 2012 just because the Mayans couldn't create an eternal calendar.

Probably not. Never set a date for Christ's return. Scripture warns us not to do this. Even Christ Himself said He doesn't know exactly when He's coming back, but only the Father. So how could Harold Camping know? Don't trust anyone who sets a date for Christ's return.
You should concentrate on getting to know the Lord now, while you still can. Repent of your sins and follow Him.

No...the end is not 2012. Besides, what is there to fear in death?
