As Christians we are provided a code by which we are measured. We hold ourselves to the teachings of Jesus as well as the ten commandments. We fail, like all people do.
If atheists reject religion, on what do they base their moral code? If there were a universal moral code inherrent in men, I wouldn't need locks on my doors or a bank to hold my money. So, is each person free to come up with his/her own moral code? If so, what do they base it on? Their own individual experiences, education, and environment? What happens when one person's code conflicts with another's, in that case. If we were all atheist wouldn't this lead to anarchy?

"It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace." - Hebrews 6:4-6

And do you know how well you must obey him not to "lose" your salvation? Let's see what God plainly says through Jesus and Paul who loved and obeyed Jesus:

"Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." - Matthew 5:48
All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: 'Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do EVERYTHING written in the Book of the Law.'" - Galatians 3:10

Most religious organizations, at least in the United States collect an obscene amount of money. Many churches are the size of small cities on huge plots of land, utilizing the latest technologies, and are lead by millionaire pastors. Shouldn't these organizations contribute to the tax-pool just like every other business?

i take a deck of playing cards. i can pick one card at random....and then i pray that god tells me what it is....and then i announce what card it is....and when i flip it over i am correct.... about 1 in 13 times. if i pray for the exact card and the exact suit....its usually only about 1 in 52....but still, pretty good that god can make me 'know' what the exact card is sometimes. it really makes me get goosebumps.

wow! god is good.

12 our of 13 times he doesn't answer my prayer.....but my fellow christians have told me that he IS answering my prayer...he is just saying "no." sometimes. hence ergo...prayer works. just the other day (after only 34 tries) i called the jack of diamonds. you know what card it was? thats right! now, how can you deny prayer?

Or are only certain people welcome? What is acceptable here in R&S and what isn't? Do the rules apply to everyone or just those you disagree with? And why is it necessary to gang up on another user? Shouldn't differences be handled between the two original people through private email?

I would like to think that those that frequent this board would be the most humane, moral, self aware... regardless of what we believe. Instead there is mostly judgement, ridicule, a lack of respect for one another.

So, do you welcome everyone here or just your kind?
