In other words, what do you think will change (for better or for worse) by doing so. I seriously believe that one day, this day will come and I'm not joking. It may be a few decades, maybe a few hundred years, but it will eventually happen. All religion is going to be prohibited and whoever does practices it will do so under dire consequences.

If Christ and God are the same being, why would God have to give Christ anything? Wouldn't He already have it? I'm not meaning to be disrespectful, or rude. I really am curious about this. I have a hard time figuring out the Trinity doctrine. So I'm asking people to explain it to me.

... kill ourselves to save the planet and its creatures? What is atheist logic about suicide? And if atheism is based on so called "logic" and not belief in some greater idea, would it not be logical to rid the earth of the parasite called man, and save the greatest number of living things? I mean, what makes us so special?

walking on water-raising the dead--curing fevers--etc.
Do Christians really believe he did these things or are they metaphors???

This question is intended to stir thought and not to seriously consider that a person might be more powerful than G-d.

I saw this question once on another forum and it really got me to thinking. G-d is bound to behave towards us in certain ways based on how we behave.

In Judaism, we have the concept of midah cneged midah. Measure for measure. G-d is bound to act towards us in the same way we act. Although the magnitude of the measures might be different, the direction is not.

For instance, we might be rewarded abundantly for a tiny good act and experience minute affliction therapy for a great evil act.

In Judiasm, we have the concept of mashpeah which loosely translates to a flow. I think of it like the cake icing things in the bakery. We establish a connection with G-d that might be chocolate, lemon or vanilla. The connection we establish governs what flows through it.

Note, it's US that determines the nature of the connection. Hence the question of "Who is more..."

Astronomers have discovered a new planet, whose neighboring planets might contain water, and ahem, life! Our current technology doesn't allow us to locate them, but the chances are good. What would that mean to religion, and Christianity specifically? Now that we know the sun doesn't revolve around a circular flat earth, will this potential revelation destroy and asunder the last vestiges of Christian faith in America?

I want to be able to come to work 10-15 minutes early, and just have my quiet time with God, and would like a website that maybe updates everyday, and let's you read different verses (new testament and growth driven) - for my devotional everyday, so nothing about old testament sacrifices and genesis and all that...I need verses to help me on my spiritual walk daily, maybe that include a lesson. Can be written, or audio or whatever. Thanks.

let's say you repent on jesus' name, i guess you can say temptation comes later in my case

your told that
jesus created heaven and earth, but i thought jehovah god did but since it is written....

my heart kinda waivered for a moment on this matter and i think i doubted jesus for what the scripture said

does this mean i must repent again or is it true that once saved always saved?

Sure, a few Jews followed, but for the most part Jews stuck by what their god told them and rejected Jesus as a false prophet. That's what God told them to do, on several occasions. They were specifically told not to follow anyone that told them to worship anything or anyone other than the God that their fathers knew. Their fathers never knew Jesus, so they knew they were not to follow him. Again, that was their directive from God.

This brings up quite a dilemma. You have Jesus, saying no one gets to the father but by him, and then you have God, saying there is no one before him and no one beside him. Jews, for the most part, followed God.

So what happened to the souls of those that followed God and rejected Jesus?

All sin is equal in the eyes of God because the definition of sin is simply missing the mark or basically, not representing the character of God in our lives.

When we murder or when we lie we are sinning because it is not representing the character of God.

However, does that mean the some evil is more evil than others?

Does God care about the evil or just the fact we missed the mark in representing him here on the earth?

Does the mean we are justified in assigning varying degrees of 'evilness'?

The act of evil itself results in sin but is it the same?

Is the separation important? I think so. I can be liar but is that same as being a murderer? What will do more damage? I'm sure it is a point of view thing since some lies can result in death and some murder can result in saving another life.

I don't think they are the same. What do you think?

What are the implications of them being different things?

i'm pagan (eclectic witch) one common trait i find about pagans is our yearnin' for learnin' lol. most pagans are avid readers and take any opportunity that presents itself to learn about the world. this could be due in part because of their open mindedness.

so, what can you say about the majority of people in your faith?
