abortion is definitely not God's will.. God gave us the miracle of life.. enabling us to reproduce..

in genesis 1:28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."

He said be fruitful and mutiply.. yes.. and more over jeremiah 1:5 says “ Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

God has a plan and a purpose for our life even before we are born.. those fetus tt gt crushed.. they are priceless in the eyes of God.. they have gt a purpose.. so abortion shld neva be done..

Funk & Wagnall's Dictionary defines abortion as “a miscarriage produced artificially.” Why is abortion wrong? Abortion is wrong because life is a gift from God. Genesis 1:27 points out that God made man in His image and He placed the spirit of man in him at conception, not at birth. Therefore, to take that life deliberately is murder. How do we know life begins at conception? The Bible tells us so. There is a Greek word, “brephos,” which is found eight times in the New Testament. Thayer's Greek Lexicon says it refers to “an unborn child, embryo, fetus, a newborn child, an infant, a baby.” It refers to the child in the womb, as well as to the child outside the womb. There is no distinction.

In Luke 1:15, John was said to be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb. "And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit”(Luke 1:41). Here was the meeting of Mary and Elisabeth. The angel had appeared to Mary and told her that she would conceive, "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus” (Luke 1:31). Then in verses 36 and 37 we read: "Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible." Then verses 39 and 40: "Now Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, to a city of Judah, and entered the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth." These are the verses leading up to the verse 41 previously quoted which says that the babe “leaped in her womb.” The babe (the “brephos”) leaped in her womb! That is a significant statement. Yes, life begins at conception and not at birth.

Is the unborn child alive or dead? There is no question about the fact that he is alive. Is he animal or human? He is human. Is he endowed with a spirit from God? Yes, the unborn child possesses an eternal, immortal spirit. “Let us make man in our image,” the Bible says. Man is made in the spiritual image of God, with an immortal spirit. That spirit certainly is within that child before he is born.

An Old Testament passage which reinforces the fact that abortion is a form of murder is Exodus 21:22-25. This is legislation pertaining to a situation in which an unborn child might be harmed. "If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the woman's husband imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. But if any harm follows, then you shall give ‘life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.’”

"If she gives birth prematurely," when this struggle occurs, “and no harm follows,” means the woman had a miscarriage, but there was no loss of life. In that case, the one causing the miscarriage paid a fine according to what the husband determined. But the text says, "if any harm follows,” meaning the mother or child died, then, it was "life for life.” The one who caused the death of the mother or the unborn child paid with his life. How could there be a clearer passage revealing how God views the unborn child? He is a child created in the image of God, while yet in the womb. To take that life by abortion in order to end an unwanted pregnancy is murder! Murder is sin!

Yes, I believe the Bible would site abortion as "sin."
The Bible says the babe in Elizabeth's womb leaped at the sound of Mary's voice as Mary was pregnant with Jesus.

The Bible tells us that those who take a reward for killing innocent life are condemned. (Killer OR abortionist)

Exodus reveals that the loss of a fetus because of injury to the mother is punishable by death.

Exodus 21:22
"If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow; he shall be surely punished, ACCORDING AS THE WOMAN'S HUSBAND WILL LAY UPON HIM."

Abortion is not a sin. Sometimes it is needed in cases of rape or just for the benefit of society at large. That verse is the closest I've seen to abortion, and it doesn't say anything about it being wrong. Whatever the parents or mom (whatever the case is) decide is their choice.

Abortion is not murder. A fetus is not considered a human life.
Exodus 21:22-23

The Bible places no value on fetuses or infants less than one month old.
Leviticus 27:6

Fetuses and infants less than one month old are not considered persons.
Numbers 3:15-16

God sometimes approves of killing fetuses.
Numbers 31:15-17
(Some of the non-virgin women must have been pregnant. They would have been killed along with their unborn fetuses.)
Hosea 9:14
Hosea 9:16
Hosea 13:16

God sometimes kills newborn babies to punish their parents.
2 Samuel 12:14

God sometimes causes abortions by cursing unfaithful wives.
Numbers 5:21-21, 27-28

God's law sometimes requires the execution (by burning to death) of pregnant women.
Genesis 38:24

The bible brings a case of where someone strikes a pregnant woman resulting in a miscarriage. The perpetrator is liable to monetary damages.

And while the bible doesn't address the specific case of intentionally terminating a pregnancy, it is obvious that if an unintentional miscarriage is caused by another, the intentional termination of a pregnancy carries a much greater, if unstated, penalty.

Yes. It is a sin.

One exception....in the case of where the fetus is an imminent threat to the mother's life, then, removing the fetus is permitted by most opinions.

What does the Bible say about abortion or is there any reference in the Bible about abortion??

A. The sixth commandment in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5 tell us not to murder another human being without cause. The question that people today have is what is a human being? They are refusing to obey the word that God had written for the benefit of all of us. God speaks of knowing someone in the womb like with Jeremiah.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations." ( Jer 1:5)
How could someone be known by God in the womb if God had not given that person a soul and mind and spirit which makes that person a human being?

Jesus was given the Holy Spirit from conception in its entirety. He was begotten by it making him a special human being who has the mind of God not the mind of man within him. That is why he is called God with us or Immanuel. ( Isaiah 7:14 and Matthew 1:23)

Another bit of evidence to prove that human beings are considered by God as whole and viable from conception is the fact that God knew before children were born what kind of people that they would be.

And the LORD said to her: 'Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older shall serve the younger.' " ( Gen. 25:23-24)
So when her days were fulfilled for her to give birth, indeed there were twins in her womb. He considers all men to be human at the time of conception not at the time of birth. If these children would have been aborted then the whole fabric of history would have been changed. How can we know how many things might have been changed had all those millions of babies aborted or left on a rock to die of exposure over the past years would have been permitted to live and contribute to the world's total intelligentsia.

He says in another place:

"As you do not know what is the way of the wind, Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, So you do not know the works of God who makes everything. " ( Eccl. 11:5)
This passage shows that not only does God consider the child within a womb he made it that way on purpose. God is the giver of the spirit that makes a human a human.

Are the unborn important to God?

Isa 49:1

“Listen to me, you islands; hear this, you distant nations: Before I was born the LORD called me; from my birth he has made mention of my name.”

Jer 1:5

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nation”

Gal 1:15

“But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and had called me through his grace”

The Bible says that we are important to God before we are even conceived!

In the Bible, what are the unborn considered to be?

Ps 127:3

“Behold, children are a gift of the LORD; The fruit of the womb is a reward.

there may be no direct quote with the word abortion in the bible but c'mon now how is something with a beating heart inside of you not considered a human being? I have 5 children and I loved them almost as much before I gave birth to them as I love them now. from 12 weeks they are moving sucking there thumbs hiccuping doing the same things that a newborn does. Isthat not A human life?

I think the Bible basically says that you should not kill any person. If a fetus is a person, than you shouldn't kill them.

But is a fetus a person? I guess many would debate that point. But there is a scriptural passage (I can't recall where it is) where God says that He knew us even in our mother's womb.

Considering that, I would say that Bible strongly implies that abortion is wrong. Wouldn't it be wrong to kill someone that God knew and interacted with?

I suppose it really depends on your view of abortion. If you consider abortion to be murder ( which I do) then it would be considered a sin, since the bible is pretty clear on 'Thou shalt not kill'. The bible never really addresses the issue of Abortion but it really stresses the fact that God knows us from the moment of conception. But again, it really depends on your view on abortion. Even if it is a sin, all sins can be forgiven if you want them to be. All you have to do is ask.
