The U.S. government has banned the flag-folding recitations at all 125 national cemeteries. The banning came as the result of one complaint. The situation is similar to that in which one person removed prayer from schools.
This article from The Associated Press explains the situation:
Complaints about religious content have led to a ban on flag-folding recitations by Veterans Administration employees and volunteers at all national cemeteries.
At thousands of military burials, VA volunteers have folded the American flag 13 times and recited the significance of each fold to survivors. The 11th fold glorifies "the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” The 12th glorifies "God the Father, the Son and Holy Ghost."
Citing a need for uniformity, the National Cemetery Administration has prohibited unpaid VA volunteers as well as employees from conducting the recital at all 125 national cemeteries.

i'm trying to imagine what nothingness is. a situation before any theoretical branes could have existed. do you suppose the laws of physics apply when nothing is present? isn't absolute nothingness just as improbable as some superbeing creating us from nothing? indeed shouldn't something, even the most miniscule element of matter, energy, or whatever you want to call it, shouldn't it always have existed?

Tammy Kitzmiller, et al. v. Dover Area School District, et al., Case No. 04cv2688, was the first direct challenge brought in the United States federal courts against a public school district that required the presentation of "Intelligent Design" as an alternative to evolution as an "explanation of the origin of life." The plaintiffs successfully argued that intelligent design is a form of creationism, and that the school board policy thus violated the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. The judge's decision has sparked considerable response from both supporters and critics.

Does reading and believing qualify someone to call themselves a witch. Or, does it require completion of an established curriculm? The publications and websites all agree on a "nature-based" aspect but little else.

I consider myself a seeker. My desire is to be used by the Goddess in her divine wisdom. I feel drawn to this statement "Vessel of Light and Channel for Grace".

Blessed be.

I have a question I am hoping someone can answer for me. I am a married woman( married for 3 years) but my marriage is not so good. My husband belittles me, calls me names and is always yelling at me calling me an idiot. I have a friend( he is male) and we have been friends for 25 years now. I talk to him almost every day about my problems and he listens to me. The other day on the phone, he told me he loved me. Is this adultry? I need to get out of my marriage, I know this but financially, I can't make it until I get out of college. Am I cheating? Im not thinking sexual thoughts but he is there for me unlike my husband who puts me down and makes me depressed.

and how many of you are Christians for the free dinner after a house fire, bingo on Tuesday nights, and a reason to dress and be with your family on Sundays?

How many of you have read Misquoting Jesus by Bart. D Ehrman? If you have read it, did it affect your understanding of biblical inerrancy?

Why do you think biblical inerrancy is so important to so many Christians? Do any of you remain Christians while believing the Biblle does have errors? If not, why does the Bible having errors bother you?

Do you think the reason for so many people upholding the doctrine of biblical inerrancy has to do with their ignorance to textual criticism? If so, do you think awareness of textual criticism should be raised?

I am asking these questions because it seems the Bible has become an idol to many Christians and the discovering of textual criticism for some has wrongfulyl swayed their faith.

By the way, I'm a loyal Christian but I do not believe the Bible is inerrant or needs to be for the accounts of Jesus' resurrection and the gospel to be true.

I have never been very religious, although I did go to church regularly as a young child, as well as attend catechism every year. Eventually my parents stopped taking me, and I no longer go to church or anything. Lately I have been through alot in my life and I feel very lost, like I have nothing to live for, and no where to turn. I have been thinking about myu faith and wondering if I would be happier if I had a better relationship with god. This is an honest question: how can religion help me at this point, and what do I do from here, besides going to church? I was raised Roman Catholic. I do not meant to sound ignorant in my question but I really do need help and I am wondering how religion can help me.
