Many many spiritual experiences and answers to prayers.
We are promised by God that the Holy Ghost will testify to our minds and hearts the truthfulness of all things. That has happened for me. I know what I believe is true, I know this is the Lord's church, that Joseph Smith restored the gospel to the earth through the power of Almighty God, that I am a daughter of God, that the Book of Mormon is true, that the temple is the House of the Lord, that my Savior died for me personally, that through obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel I can return to live with my Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and my family for eternity... that would be the sum-up of my testimony. I know and testify those things to be true. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Really there are lots of different great stories, but when it comes down to it, anyone with a testimony of the Gospel, gets it from the same source: The witness of the Holy Ghost.

We've been taught by scriptures the basics for how to get that witness: 1) study and learn about a principle (even try living it), 2) Pray to Heavenly Father to ask if it's right with REAL INTENT - meaning your 100% willing to act on the answer no matter what it is. 3) Put yourself "in the path of the spirit" or give yourself some peaceful, quite time, where "the still small voice" isn't drowned out by all the noise of the world.

My own personal testimony of the Gospel has been growing since I was about 12, by repetedly going through this process, and repetedly learning what the Holy Spirit has to teach me. Just as the scriptures say "Line upon line, precept upon precept."

Thanks

I was raised LDS so it has always been a part of my life. I have always known that the church was true and I don't remember a particular time when I had an "awakening" of sorts where I just discovered my testimony. I have prayed about it many times and I have no doubt- the Holy Ghost has borne witness of that too me. I strengthen my testimony by attending church every week, attending the temple as often as I can and by reading my scriptures and saying my prayers. As I do these things in Faith, the spirit bears witness to me that I am in the right place, doing the right thing and that the church and the gospel are true.

Edit**
How about that HOTTIE Avatar above me? Isn't he just the best?

I was given an invitation to attend. The first time I learned a principle in the Bible that other churches glossed over. I went back and learned something else. Line upon line, precept on precept, I came to understand this church has the fulness of the Gospel.

To be honest I can't pinpoint the exact moment I gained my testimony, but I do remember when I realized I had one.
My wife and I were investigating the church and one day she said she didn't feel it was right for her, and didn't want to go back. I told her that's fine and I understand, but that I was going to continue going and I hoped it wouldn't upset her. Either way I was going with or without her support because I just knew I needed to be there. Shortly after my wife gained her testimony and now we've been members for over two years.
My testimony has grown and strengthen greatly since.

I got mine as a teenager, studying for my seminary class. I was born in to the Church, but I didn't really take it to heart until then. Suffice it to say, I know that the Church is true through my own witness of the Holy Spirit. Jesussaves is way off base as usual. He seems particularly bitter and angry for some reason today.

yea besides the normal stuff they repeat there are a few goodies I have heard like the women who said a guy told her the church was true because of the light in her eyes, OK, I was light cool the light in her eyes, when I was so brainwashed. Then the lady whose child was telephathlically talking to her because he could still remember the pre-existance, or th eone about the mormons in UT whp believe that Elohim as more then one wife and that some people who look alike come from one of those heavenly mother's. Do you understand that statement? There are more, but thatis a few jems for ya.

For years I didn't think that I had one and I was willing to go through life without one. It was the people on Yahoo! Answers that bashed and insulted that pushed me back to the fold of the Church. I read everything they said and went to every link they gave and after a while I realized that this is the faith for me. Without them, I would have left years ago!
