I'm not a Christian, but recently I have been wondering about this. Is there anything in the bible that says it isn't ok?

When Jesus is taken away, he tells Peter that he will deny knowing him three times before morning. Peter does deny Jesus because he is scared, but Jesus doesn't seem to hold it against him.

In the bible it says to love Jesus and your neighbour, but does it say anywhere that you have to tell people that this is what you are doing? Because if it doesn't, a lot of martyrs probably died for no good reason.

If I knew someone who was getting picked on because they were a Christian, I'd tell them just to deny it. I think Jesus would understand!

Any thoughts, anybody?

I mean why don't you ask or answer questions on something you do believe in unless you sort of know, but don't want to admit if fully yet, Pushing God away, is not a good idea, it is your soul you are pushing in the wrong direction, there are two roads, a narrow road that leads to God, and a broad road that will take you straight to the other place. You got a free gift from Jesus out of mercy and love, and yet you turn it down for a devil that just wants you to burn with him.

I posted this question about judgement yesterday...

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ap9le07w4MNL9XT0PRnZhavsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071028160147AAuL7RR

and I find it interesting that those who show the most judgement of others on R&S didn't answer... at least not truthfully because the majority of the answers were that "they don't judge" and knowing some of the answerers, I agree... so does that mean that the judgementals here didn't see the question, or didn't have the stones to admit their judgemental ways?

Why would God put a tree in the garden and tell Adam and Eve not to eat of it, and if He knew they were going to anyway why did He not put the tree somewhere else, or why did He punish them for doing something He already knew they were going to do? Why did He make Eden if He knew He was going to have to throw them out?

Why did God not tell Moses how to get to the promise land? It was a 14 mile trip that took 40 years, if God could tell Moses to write the 10 commandments then why could He not give him a map?

Why did God create Satan and Hell if He knew Satan would show rebellion and try to take over?

What point was God trying to make in letting Satan attack Job the way He did if Job was a great man of God?

Why did God flood the earth when all He had to do is take out the bad people? Why did He create the bad people to start with?

Is it really free will if God knows what we are going to do and then punishes those that uses the so called gift of free will?

Why would a loving God put stumbling block in the path of the believer, when the believer is told not to put them in front of a brother?

Why did God not stop the 911 terrorist, when the bible says "When the enemy comes in like a flood, I will raise a standard against him?

If God really wants to be known why is He hiding from the people He created?

If His mercy endures forever why did He send his son to die a horrible death? I mean He is God is His powers so limited that He can't change His own rules? He must change rules right? If not He made Eden for nothing.

Are we just set up to fail and if so why did He make us this way?

I want real answers, not just a bible verse, and please don't tell me to go read my bible, because the answers to these are not in there. I have read it many times.

The concept that matter atoms electrons etc' was created from nothing before the big bang
is none other then a fairy tale, conjured for the none thinker
Like any sound it has a beginning, sending out its vibration's
weakest chord' now we know that sound can not invent itself, And in concluding to the thinker' it must apply to all the phenomena of matter atoms etc, that makes up this wanderful creation the Universe

What Greek text do you work with? The Textus Receptus, Westscott/Hort, NA27, or what?

Do you believe only the Byzantine texts, which date much later than the Alexandrian texts, are the only texts that are inspired by God? How do you reconcile the textual differences among the thousands of manuscripts? Lastly, how do you handle modern textual criticism and modern scholarship, i.e. do you avoid works such as Text of the Earliest New Testament Greek Manuscripts because they are authored by non-Jehovah’s Witnesses?

"it's been determined that the creation of the universe was caused by the collision of two other universes that had already exited before this one" some one hare say, "well those two universes had existed for ever in some way. IN SOME WAY??? exited for ever ???, this theory as the same of big bang are bull crap, there is no way something "become" just because..., so we can say to scientist "God had existed for ever in some way" and they can't argument us! I found more logical a divine creation by a God, that the magical becoming of TWO universes that create another! (???) what do you think? any good critical opinion is accepted...

If we all follow the same doctrine?
If we are set free in Christ, who are we to "label" ourselves as "Baptist", "Lutheran" or "Methodist" as if to appeal to the fact that we, who are all supposed to be united in ONE way are following so many different beliefs? Thereby separating ourselves? Because we do understand that each "denomination" teaches different things, or holds to the belief of some things strongly over another. Why is this so? Is the body of Christ separated? (In your opinion) And if you believe so, then, why? All denominations answers welcome.
Thank You

So if you didn't have to believe in God or become a follower of Christs whilst here on earth,
then passed over,
and found out there always WAS God,
And Heaven and He did Love you,
And He did Create You,
Just like the Christians had said,
and it was just as beautiful and peaceful, Loving, no sickness or disease, and where the streets are made from Gold...
and fact was,
that you COULD Live Forever with Him in Heaven,
and your friends, relatives and loved Ones,
if you Repented and Bowed down and Worshiped Him,
or go to the other place......

What would you do.

- Particular experiences, like those of Prophets, wise men, or science discoveries.
- Your own experience, a particular and important situation?

I mean, I realize that people *occasionally* post things about Muslims or Jews or what have you. But we have several posters who (I can think of three off the top of my head) who do nothing but post questions about how bad/wrong/silly Christianity is.

I know this question will probably get a lot of people drunk, but in all seriousness, what do you think that says? I'm not saying Christians are the most *picked* on, necessarily, but Christianity clearly invites the most trolls and abusive questions. I'd prefer to not get answers to this that say it's because all Christians are jerks --- because there are jerks in any large group of people, and not all Chrisitans *are* jerks.

7 Years ago, I was sleeping until 7 AM in the morning. At that time mysterious hands caught my ankle tightly. It was too strong. I struggled with it and I could escape the hands finally.
When I wake up, there was no one. I wondered who was that.
And why did he grasp my ankle?

I couldn't care less which religion a person follows, so long as they abide by this; do you agree?

If we admit that we can't rigorously prove the existanace of the big bang or evolution--that these represent hypothesis which can not be proven---then by the same token religions that worship a Deity have also made their own personal hypothesis about the nature and orgins of the universe--the existance of this Deity by defintion can not be rigorously proved either. Therefore is it most proper to say one holds with the theory of evolution, or one holds with the theory of the big bang, or one is a supporter of the theory of christianity?
