No. Dietary rules of the Old Testament are not required for Christians (at least that's the prevailing view).
Christians can have 4 main differing views on this, which are all a matter of one's own personal convictions and denomination.
See the link below but:
1. The Old Testament is NOT God's Word -- This view was held by Marcion, a second century heretic. It is still held by theologically liberal pastors and theologians.
2. The Old Testament is a totally different covenant. I do not have to follow the commands of this old covenant. It is only useful as history and examples. -- This is the view held by dispensationalism, a view represented by the Scofield Study Bible.
3. The Old Testament is the same covenant as the New. (The New is just a different administration of the one covenant that God started with Abraham). The Old Testament is still useful to me in its:
* examples - 1 Corinthians 10:6-11
* patterns - 1 Timothy 5:17-18
* commands - Matthew 5:17-19
* ability to rebuke, correct, and train us - 2 Timothy 3:14-17.
4. another view which says that the Old Testament is still completely binding on New Testament believers. This is held by some Messianic churches and to a lesser extent by Seventh Day Adventists. I

The NT says that there is no longer sparkling or unclean, circumsied or uncircumcised, or Jew and Gentile yet that we are all one. It additionally says that it is not what is going right into a guy's mouth that makes him unclean yet what comes out of it. So in appreciate of particular meats being unclean it is no longer appropriate to those residing under the recent dispensation. on the different hand technology bears out the nutritional rules popular interior the old testomony. And after the fulfillment of books by ability of Dr. Ted Bruer, and Dr. Jordan Rubin, i'm vulnerable to think of that there is a few wellbeing benefit to the classic nutritional rules.

No, it is not a sin and it wasn't a sin then either, it was called unclean. If you did/ate something that was considered to be unclean then you had to wash yourself and stay out of the Temple for a specific period of time. If you committed an act that was sinful, then it required a sacrifice. Stop and think about why this may have been an Old Testament law. Shellfish is one of the most common food allergies known to man. In those times if you had an allergic reaction you either lived through it or it killed you, but there was no medication to take to stop an allergic reaction. If the Jews refused to eat shellfish because it was unclean then it could very well have saved some of their lives.

You do realize that site is part of that idiotic Landover Baptist joke web site....
no one can possibly be that ignorant.....
why would old testament laws not also apply to Christians? are we not all God's children and all eat equally from his bounty?clean and unclean applies to everyone...
"new testament times we are not under the law"....
does that mean we do not follow the ten commandments??
does that mean the dietary laws are no longer applicable??
wrong !! unclean is still unclean....
shrimp is an environmental cleaner..it consumes waste...the sand around the water treatment plant is full of shrimp to clean waste water, human poo, etc ....
would you suck out the goo in your fish tank cleaner??then why would you eat a creature that does that?
ICKY!!
it is not a sin...you get sick and diseases then do not ask God why you are sick when you eat unclean things...

This is what the New Covenant brought to the people of God:
1 Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. 2O ne man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. 3 The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. 4 Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
And it says:
Psalm 32
1 Blessed is he
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
2 Blessed is the man
whose sin the LORD does not count against him
and in whose spirit is no deceit.
So while we might not eat shrimp, we are still sinners. We are sinners whether we do or don't eat shrimp. Jesus took that away from those who trust Him, and believe in His promise to not remember our sins. Even our sin nature has been wiped out from us. That is why we can truly say, " Glory to God", for He did it for those whom He loves.

Jews don't eat certain types of seafood, and I believe Muslims also have the same prohibition.
But bear in mind that Jesus was Jewish and he definitely would have kept kosher. He never rejected the Jewish faith nor any of the laws.

1 Timothy 4:4
For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

1 Timothy 4
1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

I do not think that is a focus, I believe Paul was told and said that we shouldn't go on that clean and unclean food law, it is more important to follow Jesus Christ to be saved from our sins and love one another as Christ loves us.
