I'm talking about Luxuria (extravagance, later lust), Gula (gluttony), Avaritia (greed), Acedia (sloth), Ira (wrath, more commonly known as anger), Invidia (envy), and Superbia (pride). Should we be controlled by a greater "being" or is this abstract god nonsense

OK...I just finished for the 100th odd time watching Star Wars episodes 4,5,&6 (I choose only to believe these three are the true Star Wars). Not one time did I hear his name mentioned...not by Obiwan, Luke, even Vader...nobody. Are you sure he was a Jedi knight?

When someone tells a Christian that their bible is a book of mythology, they take offense to it. If I told you I believed in Greek gods, like Zeus and Hera, you'd refer to it as mythology.

What makes the bible better than everyone else's stories?

And don't say "because the bible is the truth" because that's a total cop-out.

While we were presenting Hindu teachings every now & then, two young Muslim men, continued to raise objections & in the guise of "trying to understand Hinduism" interject some demeaning comments about Hinduism. The idea of worshipping God through images was seen as a serious issue. We had to explain that just as you cannot do math without the infinity symbol (which is very finite); as long as we operate in the field of the finite we need finite tools to relate to the infinite God. The Hindus are not apologetic about the use of finite images to relate to the infinite God. Surprisingly the Hindu concept of "accepting that there can be many ways for making spiritual progress" seemed to have gone down well till we came to the end of the session, when one of the youth made a proclamation that it was his duty to warn us to embrace Islam else we will pay a heavy price on the day of judgement. Our response was, "We are thankful for his concern about our welfare but we will take that risk."

My friend says there are over 133 million demons and I believe there are around 7.4 million and if I can find where it says that there were only 200 fallen angels then I think I can prove to her that her number is too high because the fallen angels weren't on the earth long enough to have that many children and they were put inside that pit and locked up before the flood. I just need to find where it says that.

Col 1:12-15

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

In light of that what about Isaiah 44:24. In my previous question you stated that Jesus was helping God in creation. That Jesus was indeed who all things were created through. In Isaiah God says He did it alone. That He did everything. He even says who was with me. If Jesus is not Jehovah how could He have been with God when He was creating the universe? God makes it clear in this verse it was Him and Him alone who created everything.

24 This is what Jehovah has said, your Repurchaser and the Former of you from the belly: “I, Jehovah, am doing everything, stretching out the heavens by myself, laying out the earth. Who was with me?"

I think if you believe in the Christian God, it is impossible for free will to exist. A Christian would say: "accept or deny Christ, that's free will." But I say if God is real, the Bible is true. And if the Bible is true, it is right in stating that God is "all seeing and all knowing," therefore he would know whether you are going to heaven or hell: knowing your fate, if you will. This would mean that even if I tried to commit an act of free will, it would never be possible (such as saying I will drive to the store today, yet when I'm on the road, I decide to swerve into oncoming traffic for no reason), because I was meant to do it all along. It is the idea of "what if" and "I wonder" thoughts being what determine what will truly happen. We don't know what will happen. When we speak to someone in person, we are both seeing each other at the furthest moments in our lives. Actions that we perform in these moments are pre-decided. We aren't in control. We are pointless. Your thoughts?

So if a person is saved, then later in life goes out and rapes and kills a whole bunch of people. Is that person still going to heaven? I want to get other peoples opinion on this because I don't believe it.
