Queenthe, yes black people should complain. I have looked for a black Barbie watch for my grandaughter and can't find one.

Yes, I have plenty of bibles. Does anyone know who owns Target?

yes, Target in their attempt to not alienate any customers, have gone non-religious.

if you notice their windows on Christmas have also gone secular.

Must be part of a vast anti-Christian conspiracy.

Seriously, why do you care, don't you already have a bible ? If not, there are plenty of places where you can buy them.

Most bookstores carry them.

You made a suggestion and got a form letter reply.

Why do you want to know who owns Target ? So you can organize a boycott, because the particular store you visited didn't have the EXACT book you wanted on the EXACT day you shopped there. Someone else posted a link showing that Target does sell Bibles and other Bible themed games & books.

Target is a general department store, not a Christian bookstore that has to cater to your every whim.

Years ago, I tried to buy a black Barbie doll, because my son who was in pre-school got invited to a black girls birthday party, and her mother told me she liked Barbie dolls. I couldn't find a black Barbie at Target. They told me they only carry them around Christmas time.

So if you are going to pout about Target not selling Bibles, should black people pout about Target not selling black Barbie dolls ?

I think you have every right to complain...this is AMERICA STILL...I mean they do sell books and since the Bible is the most sold book of all, why would they not carry it? As for some of you... I think, you are very rude or perhaps just not very knowledgeable as to what is really going on in the world. If she were talking about gay books would you reply the same? I mean every time someone mentions the Bible there is so much negative feedback...what is the big deal??? I suppose we should take "In GOD WE TRUST off our money too? Maybe Target should also sell the Koran, Torah, and HEY! how about Satan's "Bible "???!! America is going to h--- in a hand basket, and some of you really need Wake up!
There is a secret society...that decides all the major decisions in the world...ever heard of Bilderberg, Trilateral Counsel, or CIA now called the FIA...or seen "THE GOOD SHEPARD" movie? Maybe you should go see the new movies coming out with Tom Cruise and Meryl Streep and the one with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts...at least these people know what is going on. I'm a younger boomer and we did what we could in our time...now it is the time for generations behind to DO SOMETHING. Or NOT, and watch as America, goes to h--- in a hand basket..

It is a stores' right to sell whatever merchandise they desire to sell. With that said, I'm a bit surprised that they would neglect to sell one of the best-selling books of all time.

Maybe they're afraid of having to do equal access for all religions, ie. the Book of Mormon, the Qur'an, the Talmud, Hadith, Torah, Nag Hamadi, etc.

I use my church's website when I need to order one. Either way, I know not to look at Target if I need to buy one in a pinch.

I think a retail store can sell what it wants to sell and control it's own inventory.

Bibles are readily available at books stores, libraries, every hotel room in the world, every christian church, homeless shelter and other places.

If you don't have a bible, go to Barnes and Noble. If you can't afford a bible, go to the church and let them know you need one.

Meanwhile, stop expecting it to be sold everywhere. Major retailers stock merchandise that will be sold and that have high turnover.

Or, don't you understand consumerism.

I think it's fine. They can sell what they want. They also don't sell liquor, crack cocaine, or intimate toys. When I find myself needing anything like that, I know to look elsewhere.
When I want nicely priced organic snack food, an adorable denim blazer, home fashions, or really great holiday gift sets, I'll go to Target.
Anyway, lots of places are free to sell what they want. I don't believe that Taco Bell, JC Penney, Hot Topic, or Bath and Body Works sells Bibles either. Are they next on your list?

Uh, if you're looking for a book, try a bookstore.

Why do you think every single store on the planet sell that particular book?

What you got is what's called a "form letter" -- with computers, they can plop your key phrase into a pre-written letter.

Welcome to the 20th century.

The shareholders own target.

Sears also does not advertize on Christian stations, so they get my business.

Oh, so my urban myth about Sears is the same as Target? I just made that up, then saw the links above.

Try a Christian Book Store.

(B. Dalton Bookstores is a subsidiary
of Target, and they sell bibles)

You realize they just stuck the word "bible" into a form letter, right? It could just have easily said "explosives" or "Big Macs."
If this is how you're going to decide where to shop, well, it's your life, I guess. If it makes you feel any better, I'll bet they don't sell Korans or Talmuds, either.

Since when? I went to their book section and saw bibles there, all be it the non secular kind, but there were bibles! Also Christian based story books as well!
