If Christians just went by Jesus' own words, how would the religion be different?
Paul added quite a bit.

Jesus, for instance, never said anything about homosexuals. So Christians wouldn't have a reason to say they were immoral/ an abomination.

What else would be different?

from what I read historians pretty much agree the man Jesus did exist. That there were enough non christian references from that time to prove it. They didn't seem to be too impressed with him or his following, But they did write about him.

I have a relative that is going through hell right now there is no nicer way to put it. I love her dearly. My gifting is encouragement and at times serving I dont have the gift of helps and sometimes when I am asked or requried to do more I get annoyed and I know this is wrong because Jesus took the time to die for my sins so I could be saved and go to heaven.

My question is this do you find people who are going though a lot and/or have a lot of needs to be very needy and demanding and that the cycle of thier neediness never seems to end?

Being said this what are good godly ways to have a Christ like attitude when these people need help? It is just sometimes dpressing helping people who are hostile neagive depressed and have little or not joy?

What is your take on this?

Everyone else feel free to answer as well, but I'm most interested in LDS answers.

When John the Baptist baptized Jesus did he do it in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost?

I've noticed alot of unique personalities in R&S and I wonder how many of them are a reflection of the real person behind the avatar. This forum makes it too easy to pretened to be someone you are not. Do you come to R&S and show your authentic self? Do you hide behind humor, sarcasm, or anything else? When discusing religion and spirituality do you do it with your complete self and soul or just with your emotions or needs? And finally, If you do pretend you are someone/something else than what you really are in this forum, how do you hope to get anything worthwhile out of it?

How do you get someone deleted from R&S and why would someone do this?

For the second time in two days I see threads about member accounts being deleted because someone reported them.

Is that all it takes to get someone deleted? That is unbelievable. Don't reports have to be validated or are people simply deleted due to excessive reporting regardless? I'm truly trying to understand.

That is really sad people. There are some who I find quite abrasive here but I don't report people. I report posts and questions. There have been a few that I have reported but they are silly shiz like the person currently asking the best time to douche.

If we don't like a serious question or answer can't we just move on or at most give them a thumb down?

There is a lot to learn, even from those we feel are foolish. Every time a big presence here is deleted I feel a loss.

I deeply respect people of all faiths. However, their needs to be a line when something is going overboard. How can someone believe in Scientology. Not just becuase of it's sci-fi belief system, but the entire fact that it revolves around how much money you put into it. That alone should tell you that something is messed up. If their are any scientologists on this board, please inform me why you believe what you do.

Ok, so I want everyone here to agree, and I want to see how many people can agree.
Now, please read this with an OPEN MIND, forgetting your prejudices and thinking scientifically.
S: (n) scientific theory (a theory that explains scientific observations) "scientific theories must be falsifiable"
That is Princeton’s definition.
http://wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=scientific+theory&sub=Search+WordNet&o2=&o0=1&o7=&o5=&o1=1&o6=&o4=&o3=&h=0
As used in science, a theory is an explanation or model based on observation, experimentation, and reasoning, especially one that has been tested and confirmed as a general principle helping to explain and predict natural phenomena.
http://home.comcast.net/~fsteiger/theory.htm
That is the definition and Atheist uses, on his website.
Now based on these definitions, can we at least say that both
creation and evolution ARE theories?
Given that there is evidence, regardless of whether you believe the evidence,
that creation is true.

Where do all the R&S regulars go when they cyber die? Reincarnation is always a possibility, but some of them never come back. Where do they go?

I just looked out of my window and there were a group of young men walking down the street. All of their pants were hanging below their waist, and then they stopped and were talking. All of them walk and stand like they are sitting on a horse. Legs spread wide, and they reek with conceit. If I could only take a picture of them and show it to them. They looked like a bunch of overgrown toddlers with diapers full of you know what, and that is not cute on grown men. I am still laughing. However, I love them, I remember when they were babies. I've been in the hood for 21 years.

So-crates it is not fair. You are the "Fugly" king of the R&S, without you there is no R&S.
When my eye first fell on you and your avatar, I just stood there for one hour shocked of such Hawtness. C'mon don't be like this.
We need you So-crates.

How much do you know about science and the Bible?
Answer these questions in the next 10 MINUTES! There is a separate test for creationists and "evolutionists" (don't like that word). Creationists must honestly answer the question as an "evolutionist" would answer the question. (ie. Does evolution happen? Yes.) and vice versa with "evolutionists".
If you're a Christian who accepts evolution take whatever test you want. =P

No sarcastic answers.

Creationist test:

1) What does DNA stand for?
2) How old is the earth?
3) When did the dinosaurs live?
4) How old is the universe?
5) What is the nearest star after the sun?
6) Is natural selection random?
7) Is our nearest common ancestor shared with modern chimpanzees?
8) How many kinds of radiometric dating methods are there?
a) 0-5 b) 6-10 c) 10-15 d) more than 15
9) Why is the one kind of radiometric dating (Carbon 12 & 14) not used for dating the age of the earth?
10) Named three different species in the genus Homo?

Do you think it would be possible to override the law (I'm assuming there is one) and have my body burnt on a pyre? I mean, Jews, after all, are not required to be embalmed although it is a law.
