Everyone else feel free to answer as well, but I'm most interested in LDS answers.
When John the Baptist baptized Jesus did he do it in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost?

It's for LDS cuz I am LDS and I want to see what others think. I just thought it would be wierd for John to say that.
PlasticPunk, thanks for the verse. It puts some more light on the subject.

I really don't remember I was inclined to say yes at first, but he was baptizing the Son, so I don't see why he would do it in the name of the Son.

Here is what Alma the elder had to say on the subject.
Mosiah 18: 12 And now it came to pass that Alma took Helam, he being one of the first, and went and stood forth in the water, and cried, saying: O Lord, pour out thy Spirit upon thy servant, that he may do this work with holiness of heart.
13 And when he had said these words, the Spirit of the Lord was upon him, and he said: Helam, I baptize thee, having authority from the Almighty God, as a testimony that ye have entered into a covenant to serve him until you are dead as to the mortal body; and may the Spirit of the Lord be poured out upon you; and may he grant unto you eternal life, through the redemption of Christ, whom he has prepared from the foundation of the world.
I don't remember exactly why I chose that, but I did. I would think Christ would have been baptized in His own name.
Oh yeah, I think I chose this because in times before Christ was born they were baptized in His name. So I would think Christ would have been as well because technically he had yet to fulfill the law. And as it goes along with keeping all the commandments and He kept them all, then I would think yes.

I'm sure he did. Why would the baptismal prayer have changed since His time?
